Le Moyne College shortstop Andy Parrino was selected on Friday by the San Diego Padres in the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft. Parrino was chosen in the 26th round with the 807th selection and is the 31st player in Le Moyne program history to be selected. This marks the fourth time in five seasons that two players from Le Moyne have been selected in the June Draft.
Parrino became only the 11th position player and the 6th infielder to be selected in the amateur draft in Le Moyne College history. The 2007 MAAC Player of the Year hit a career high .402 this season with nine homeruns and 44 runs batted in. He had a .643 slugging percentage and a .479 on base percentage. Parrino hit .667 with seven runs scored in the MAAC Tournament to lead the Dolphins to the championship and the program's fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
