NORTHAMPTON, MASS – The Le Moyne College women's tennis team captured their third Northeast-10 Conference victory of the season with a 9-0 victory over AIC on Sunday. In dropping only seven games in five singles matches, the Dolphins improved to 3-10 overall, 3-7 in conference. The Yellow Jackets fell to 0-8 overall, 0-7 in the NE-10.
In #1 singles, sophomore Rebecca Black (Palmyra, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon) won her second straight match with a straight set victory over Amanda McLean. Junior Caroline Tisdell (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) won her sixth match of the season in blanking Jamie Roy in #2 singles 6-0, 6-0. Freshman Kristine Kenny (Baytown, Texas/Ross S. Sterling-Baytown) defeated Martien Turgeon 6-2, 6-1 in #3 singles. Elizabeth Rhode (Penn Yan, N.Y./Penn Yan Academy) had little trouble in #4 singles with a 6-1, 6-1 defeat of Edna Olwo and Megan Andolina (Fulton, N.Y./Fulton) captured her first singles victory of the season with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Taila de Souza.
In doubles, Tisdell and Black teamed up for their third victory of the season with an 8-0 win over Turgeon and Roy. Le Moyne captured the second doubles point as Rhode and Andolina won their third match as a duo with an 8-1 win over Taila de Souza and McLean.
Le Moyne returns to action on Saturday, April 9th as travel to St. Anselm for their final road match of the season.
