Syracuse, N.Y. – Senior midfielder Matt Chadderdon (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) scored four goals and dished out an assist to lead the second-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team to an 11-5 win over Saint Michael's in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday afternoon at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex.
The Dolphins opened the game's scoring just 40 seconds into the contest. Redshirt junior midfielder Tyler Sennett (Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham) drove to the cage down the left alley for his 10th goal of the season. Following a Saint Michael's turnover behind the Le Moyne goal, Chadderdon rocketed in his 11th goal of the year. After five minutes and 38 seconds of scoreless action, senior attackman Jack Harmatuk (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy/Syracuse U.) scored into upper corner of the goal from the left win on a man-up opportunity off a pass from Chadderdon. The goal gave Harmatuk a tally in 41 consecutive games.
Le Moyne extended its lead to five with a pair of goals in the opening 1:57 of the second quarter. Off a restart following a missed shot, senior attackman Vinnie Alexander (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Onondaga C.C.) fed freshman midfielder Andrew Chadderdon (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn), who found the back of the net for his seventh goal of the campaign. After a slashing penalty on Chadderdon's goal, senior midfielder Nick DiSarro (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) converted a pass from graduate student midfielder Mike Rabbitt (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) for his seventh tally at the 13:03 mark.
Following over 11 minutes of action without a goal, the Purple Knights got on the board with 1:45 left in the half as University of Vermont transfer Marty Vanzo slotted a shot inside the near post.
The Dolphins regained their five-goal lead 1:35 into the third quarter on an unassisted goal by Matt Chadderdon, but the Purple Knights scored three goals in a span of 3:47 to get within 6-4. Kevin Hunt scored the first at the 12:25 mark with an unassisted goal. Off a restart of a missed shot, Paul Tortora, Jr. passed the ball from the top of the box to the left side of the field to Pete Donnally, who connected on his 14th goal of the year with 9:30 to go. After a Le Moyne turnover in front of the goal, the Purple Knights cleared the ball up field, with Donnally scoring from the left crease in transition with 8:38 remaining in the third quarter.
The Dolphins regained momentum heading into the fourth quarter as sophomore defenseman Alex Cameron-Carter (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) blocked a shot and cleared the ball up field. After working the ball behind the cage, senior attackman Jack Venditti (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) fed the ball over the top of the goal to a charging DiSarro, who netted his second goal of the contest with five seconds remaining.
Le Moyne extended its lead to 9-4 by scoring twice over the opening 2:10 of the fourth quarter. Chadderdon scored Le Moyne's eighth goal at the 13:46 mark with an unassisted tally. Just 56 seconds later, Harmatuk dove across the crease from the left side for his second goal of the game.

After a two-minute unnecessary roughness penalty was called on Saint Michael's, Alexander scored the game's final goal in a man-up situation off a pass from DiSarro.
