Box Score

Worcester, Mass. – Junior midfielder Andrew Chadderdon (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) recorded a career-high six points to lead the second-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team to a 9-4 win over Assumption College on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at the Multi-Sport Stadium.

The Dolphins opened the scoring in the game with an extra-man goal just 3:12 into the contest as sophomore midfielder Alec Westerhoff (Lagrange Park, Ill./Lyons Township/Bridgton Academy) finished off a feed from senior attackman Tyler Prevost (Watertown, N.Y./Immaculate Heart/Onondaga C.C.). Le Moyne doubled its lead just over two minutes later as reigning Northeast-10 Player of the Week Chris Button (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) found the back of the net off a pass from Chadderdon. With 6:30 remaining in the opening quarter, Chadderdon tallied his first goal of the day after taking a pass from freshman attackman Mike Jenkins (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa). Chadderdon then earned his third point of the afternoon by finding sophomore midfielder Joe Corapi (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) for a goal with 2:50 to play.

Le Moyne added four goals in the second quarter to take an 8-0 lead. Just 42 seconds into the quarter, Prevost netted his second goal of the season off a pass from Chadderdon. After picking up a ground ball off an Assumption turnover, senior defensive midfielder Connor Regin (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee/Onondaga C.C.) raced up field before finding senior attackman Nate Frechette (Manlius, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) for his second goal of the campaign with 12:58 left. Following an Assumption slashing penalty, Chadderdon hit the back of the net off a pass from Frechette with 11:39 remaining in the half. Out of a timeout, junior Matt Klepper (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius/Merrimack) recorded his first goal of the year with 5:11 to play as Frechette picked up his third assist of the season.

Just like the start of the second quarter, Prevost opened the scoring in the third quarter by finishing off a pass from Chadderdon within the first 45 seconds.

Assumption got on the scoreboard with 3:02 remaining in the quarter on an unassisted goal by Ty Martina.

The Greyhounds added three goals in the fourth quarter to complete the game's scoring. Connor MacNeil tallied the first goal of the period at the 12:54 mark after taking a pass from Peter Gersbeck. Tim Casey trimmed his team's deficit to six with 8:33 remaining with an unassisted goal. Casey scored again 67 seconds later off a feed from Garrett Smith to complete the game's scoring.

Senior goalkeeper Jeff White (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius HS), the reigning Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week, earned the win between the pipes after stopping the only two shots he faced in 24:35 of action. In just under 161 career minutes over four starts against the Greyhounds, White has made 10 saves against just one goal allowed. Will Contento made 17 saves in the loss for the Greyhounds. Junior face-off specialist Kam Bumpus">Kam Bumpus (Marshfield, Mass./Needham/Bridgton Academy) won all nine face-offs he took to improve to 29-for-30 against the Greyhounds, including a streak of 26 straight victories.

Le Moyne (2-0, 1-0 NE-10), which won its 56 straight Northeast-10 Conference game and 28th consecutive regular season game, returns to action on Sunday at home against American International at 1:00 p.m.
