MEN’S SOCCER CLOSES OUT NON-CONFERENCE ACTION WITH 3-0 WIN OVER FELICIAN

Syracuse, N.Y. – Three different players scored to lead the Le Moyne College men's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Felician College in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon at Ted Grant Field.

Following almost 28 minutes of scoreless action to start the contest, during which time each team put a shot on goal, the Dolphins netted the only goal they would need. After receiving a pass from junior midfielder Anthony Scaravillo (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill), senior midfielder Alexander Lautner (Munich, Bavaria/Theodolinden Gymnasium) fired a shot at the goal, but it was turned away by goalkeeper Anthony Tsouhnikas. Off the rebound, Scaravillo blasted the ball out of the air and into the back of the net from 10 yards out for his second goal of the season.

The Dolphins doubled their lead midway through the second half. After the ball into the penalty box and down the left endline, junior back Mark Gentile (Walworth, N.Y./Wayne) sent a pass along the endline. Graduate student forward Fabian Egger (Planegg, Bavaria/Feodor-Lynen Gymnasium/Webber International) charged towards the goal and pushed the ball into the back of the net from the left post.

Just over seven minutes later, senior midfielder Taylor Spear (Peru, N.Y./Peru) converted a penalty kick for his first career goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Ben Beaury (Cohoes, N.Y./LaSalle Institute) stopped both shots he faced, both of which came off free kicks, to register his Northeast-10 Conference-best seventh shutout victory of the season. His seven shutouts are the most by a freshman in the program's history and are tied for the most by a first-year Le Moyne goalkeeper (Mike Williams, 1994). Tsouhnikas finished the game with four saves, three of which came in the first half. The Dolphins recorded a 17-2 advantage in shots and took all seven of the game's corner kicks.

Le Moyne (9-4), which did not allow a goal in any of its four non-conference games (14-0), returns to Northeast-10 action on Wednesday at Assumption College at 7:00 p.m.
