The Dolphins, who fall a game behind the Chargers for second place in the Southwest Division standings with three games to play and can finish no worse than fourth, were led offensively by freshman forward Stan Buczek (Port Jervis, N.Y./Burke Catholic), who came off the bench to record a career-high 17 points and grab three offensive rebounds. After Gause nailed a three-pointer from the top of the key with 1:09 left to give the Dolphins a 60-56 lead, the Chargers scored the last five points of the game for the win. Just 12 seconds after Gause's three-pointer, DePass drilled a three-pointer from the right wing to cut his team's deficit to one. After the Dolphins missed a lay-up with 20 seconds to go, Adkins was able to split two defenders just above the foul line, slipped past another and laid the ball in with 1.1 seconds remaining. Following a Le Moyne timeout, Gause was able to get a three-point attempt off from the right wing, but it sailed just left of the rim.

The Chargers opened the game with the first six points, all of which were scored by Cyrus James and were his only points of the game. After being held scoreless for the first 6:11, the Dolphins answered back with seven straight points for their first lead. Gause nailed a three-pointer, junior forward Ryan Romich (Groton, Mass./Groton-Dunstable/Vermont Academy) made a lay-up and then Buczek knocked down a jump shot with 12:27 to go.

The teams traded points over the next six minutes, resulting in the game's fourth tie at 16-apiece. Buczek had five of Le Moyne's nine points in the span, while Exum had five of New Haven's 10 points.

Following two free throws by Champion to tie the score at 16, the Chargers scored nine straight points in a span of 2:45 to open up their largest lead of the game. Exum started the run with a three-pointer, DePass followed with one of his own and then Anderson recorded a conventional three-point play with 3:32 left.

After Anderson made a jumper with 2:49 left for a 27-18 New Haven lead, the Dolphins scored the last seven points of the half to pull within 27-25 at the intermission. Buczek registered a traditional three-point play after grabbing an offensive rebound and then made a left baseline jumper to tie his previous career high, which he set on November 23 at New Haven. Romich completed the half's scoring with a lay-up with 34 seconds left.

The Dolphins scored the first five points of the second half to take the lead, which they would not give up until Adkins's lay-up in the final second. After a pair of DePass free throws, the Dolphins converted six straight from the foul line to extend their lead to seven with 15:39 left. Graduate student center Jim Janson (Scotia, N.Y./Scotia-Glenville) made four and then sophomore guard Qwadere Lovell">Qwadere Lovell (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Mount Vernon) connected on two.

Following an 8-3 spurt by the Chargers and then back-and-forth action that resulted in a 43-40 Le Moyne lead, the Dolphins posted a 9-2 run to take their largest lead of the game with 8:52 left. In New Haven's spurt, DePass and Jonny Ocasio each knocked down three-pointers. Gause ignited Le Moyne's run with a jumper in the paint, Buczek followed with a three-pointer from the right corner in transition, Gause had a put-back dunk and then Lovell made a fast-break lay-up after a block by Janson.

The Chargers answered back with seven of the next nine points to cut their deficit in half with 5:50 left. Anderson and Exum each made two free throws before Ocasio drained a three-pointer from the right wing.

After Champion pushed Le Moyne's lead back to eight with a put-back lay-up with 4:22 remaining, the Chargers scored seven straight points to set up the dramatics of the final 69 seconds. Exum started the comeback with his 20th career three-pointer on Grant Court (11 of which came in his first appearance on November 28, 2010). After one minute and 50 seconds of scoreless action, Anderson made a pair of lay-ups 48 seconds apart around a Le Moyne missed jump shot to force a Le Moyne timeout with 1:20 left.

Le Moyne (13-10, 10-7 NE-10), which has lost three of its last four games after winning five in a row to close out January, closes out its regular season home schedule on Saturday against The College of Saint Rose at 5:30 p.m. Prior to tip-off, Janson and Champion will be honored by the Dolphin Athletic Association for their contributions to the program.
