Syracuse, N.Y. – Junior goalkeeper
Tori Corsaro (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) registered her 10th career shutout to set the program record in the Le Moyne College women's soccer team's 1-0 win over the University of New Haven on Tuesday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Ted Grant Field.
Corsaro, who has recorded shutouts in five of the last six games, made seven saves for her 10th shutout to eclipse the previous record of nine originally set by current head coach
Tracey Leipold '95 and later equaled by Amanda Abbatiello '09 (who also went to Liverpool HS).
The Dolphins scored the only goal they would need just over 18 minutes into the contest. After receiving the ball outside the top right corner of the penalty box, freshman forward
Kirsten Colegrove (Athens, Pa./Athens) carried the ball to the top right corner of the goal box, where she slid a shot into the lower left corner of the net for her first career goal.
Le Moyne put five of its seven shots on goal, but could not add to its goal total as Deandra Nash made four saves in the loss for the Chargers, who registered an 11-7 advantage in shots. Le Moyne posted a 5-4 edge in corner kicks in the game.
Le Moyne (4-3-1, 2-1-1 NE-10), which has recorded five shutouts for the fifth time in the program's 34-year history, travels to North Andover, Mass. to take on Merrimack College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
