Christina Perry (Endwell, N.Y./Seton Catholic) each recorded a pair of victories to lead the Le Moyne College women's tennis team to an 8-1 win over American International College on Wednesday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at the Skytop Tennis Courts.
At first doubles, Benoit-Limosani teamed with classmate
Rithika Vajjiravelu (Chennai, Tamil Nadu/Kendriya Vidyalaya) to defeat Ana Paula Simoes and Isabel Daudt by a score of 8-6. Perry and senior
Jessica Geary (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) were victorious at second doubles, 8-1, over Eleana Fulop and Jasmine Byrd. Freshman
Autumn Hogan (Rochester, N.Y./Aquinas Institute) and senior
Margaret LaFleur (Darien Center, N.Y./Attica) won by default at third doubles.
Benoit-Limosani improved to 6-2 on the season, including 4-1 in conference action, with a 7-6 (7-2), 6-0 victory over Daudt at second singles. Senior
Dominique Canale (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego/Arcadia) registered a 7-5, 6-3 win over Fulop at third singles, while Perry was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Byrd at the fourth spot. Geary and Hogan were winners at fifth and sixth singles, respectively, by default. Simoes earned American International's point with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Vajjiravelu.
Le Moyne (4-5, 3-3 NE-10) returns to dual-match competition on Tuesday against The College of Saint Rose at 3:00 p.m. at the Skytop Tennis Courts after sending four members to this weekend's ITA East Regional in Flushing, N.Y.
