Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's and women's swimming and diving teams closed out their home schedule on Saturday afternoon with a pair of setbacks against Southern Connecticut State University at the Rev. Vincent B. Ryan, S.J. Pool. The men were edged by the Owls, 121-113, while the women fell 140-83.

On the women's side, junior Tara O'Donnell (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem) and sophomore Allison Miedaner (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) each won two events. O'Donnell picked up Le Moyne's first victory of the day by touching the wall first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:17.41 to win by 0.40 seconds. Her margin of victory in the 100-yard backstroke was even narrower as her time of 1:02.08 was just 0.10 seconds faster than Southern Connecticut's Rachel Smolensky. In the first one-meter diving event, Miedaner picked up the win by registering a score of 124.35. She completed the sweep of the diving events by recording a score of 163.80 in the second one-meter event.

For the men, sophomore Tim Buff (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) led the Dolphins with two individual victories, while teaming on a relay win. He picked up the team's first individual win of the meet by recording a time of 1:59.93 in the 200-yard IM. Four events later, he won the 500-yard freestyle by almost three seconds with a time of 5:00.57. To close out the meet, Buff teamed with freshmen Andy Raiola (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xavier) and Travis May (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Fox Lane) and junior Ronnie Lowe (Middletown, N.Y./Pine Bush) to win the 800-yard freestyle relay in 7:37.91.

Junior Josh Byrne (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) swept the two diving events for the second straight meet. He recorded a score of 204.70 to top a pair of Southern Connecticut divers in the first one-meter event. He then registered a score of 262.55 to claim the second one-meter event.

May opened the meet by teaming with juniors Chris Mosconi (Gloversville, N.Y./Gloversville), Ben Verdi (Buffalo, N.Y./St. Joseph's) and Daniel Tarbrake (Beltsville, Md./Gonzaga College High) to capture the 200-yard medley relay in 1:39.06. Verdi registered Le Moyne's final individual win of the meet by touching the wall first in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:01.86.

The Dolphins close out dual meet action on Saturday at Pace University at 2:00 p.m.
