BENTLEY RALLIES FOR 2-1 WIN OVER MEN’S SOCCER

Waltham, Mass – Scott Levy dished out a pair of assists to lead Bentley University to a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over the Le Moyne College men's soccer team on Saturday morning in Northeast-10 Conference action at the Bentley Soccer Field.

Le Moyne netted the first goal of the game on the first shot by either team. Redshirt sophomore midfielder Marcello Palucci (Miami, Fla./Gulliver Prep/Florida International) sent a pass from the top of the penalty box to graduate student forward Fabian Egger (Planegg, Germany/Feodor-Lynen Gymnasium/Webber International), who dribbled to within six yards of the goal before slotting a shot into the back of the net just 8:42 into the contest.

After the Dolphins took the next five straight shots, the Falcons put consecutive shots on goal. The first was saved, but the second found netting to tie the score with 25:35 gone in the game. From the top of the penalty box, Levy pushed a pass towards the net. Forrest Scaring ran on to the ball before slipping a shot inside the far post.

Bentley took the lead on the first shot of the second half. From the right wing, Levy lofted a cross into the penalty box, where it was headed into the goal from eight yards out by Nick Hoffman.

Le Moyne got off six shots over the final 39 minutes of the contest, three of which were put on target, but the Dolphins were not able to tally the equalizer.

Sophomore goalkeeper Ben Beaury (Cohoes, N.Y./LaSalle Institute) registered two saves, one in each half, between the pipes in the loss. Jack Blatchford recorded four saves, including three after halftime, to earn his second career win against the Dolphins. Le Moyne tallied a 14-6 advantage in shots, including 8-3 in the first half, while Bentley had a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.

Le Moyne (7-4, 4-4 NE-10), which has dropped three of the last four meetings with the Falcons after going 11-3-3 in the first 17 matchups, starts a three-game homestand against non-conference foe Slippery Rock University on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
