ASSUMPTION RECORDS 6-1 VICTORY OVER WOMEN’S SOCCER

Worcester, Mass. – Kallie Villemaire scored one goal and dished out two assists to lead Assumption College to a 6-1 victory over the Le Moyne College women's soccer team in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday afternoon at the Multi-Sport Stadium.

The Greyhounds opened up the game's scoring just 23 seconds into the contest. After receiving a pass from Nikki Callini, Amanda Arnold beat a defender and went in 1-on-1 with the goalkeeper before slotting a shot into the center of the net for her fifth goal of the season.

Exactly two minutes later, Callini fired a shot on net that was turned away by the goalkeeper. Callini was then able to redirect the rebound into the net for her second marker of the campaign.

Another three minutes later, the Dolphins cut their deficit in half. From point-blank range, junior midfielder Rachel Terry (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) put a shot into the bottom right corner of the goal for her third goal of the year.

Assumption regained its two-goal lead at the 29:25 mark. Villemaire sent a pass to Arnold, who eluded the defense 35 yards in front of the goal and carried the ball into the penalty box. With the goalkeeper pulled out, Arnold scored from 15 yards out.

Five minutes later, the Greyhounds took a 4-1 lead. After accepting a pass from Villemaire, Ania Spina scored her second goal of the season with a shot into the right corner from 10 yards out.

The Greyhounds extended their lead to 5-1 at the 69:07 mark as Villemaire beat her defender and scored into the bottom right corner of the goal from 10 yard out on the left side.

Assumption completed the game's scoring with 5:14 left as Emily Hill netted her first goal of the season by lofting a shot over the defense and goalkeeper and into the top left corner of the net from 10 yards out.

Senior goalkeeper Tori Corsaro (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) registered a career-best 15 saves (against five goals) over 75:38 between the pipes in the loss. The 15 saves are the most by a Dolphin netminder over the last 10 seasons. Emily Kuzma tallied four saves (against one goal) over 79:57 to earn the win for the Greyhounds. Assumption registered a 31-11 advantage in shots, including 18-6 in the first half, while taking all 12 of the game's corner kicks.

Le Moyne (3-11-1, 2-9-1 NE-10), which fell to the Greyhounds for the first time since 2009 (4-0-1), plays its final home game of the season on Wednesday against Franklin Pierce University at 3:00 p.m.
