23RD-RANKED SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE NETS TWO SECOND-HALF GOALS IN 2-0 WIN OVER WOMEN’S SOCCER

Syracuse, N.Y. – Trisha Luis was a part of both goals to lead 23rd-ranked Southern New Hampshire University to a 2-0 victory over the Le Moyne College women's soccer team on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Ted Grant Field.

In the scoreless first half, Southern New Hampshire registered an 8-4 advantage in shots, including a 5-1 edge in shots on goal.

After taking the first five shots of the second half, the first of which had to be saved by senior goalkeeper Tori Corsaro (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool), the Penmen tallied the only goal they would need at the 82:28 mark. After dribbling through traffic, Bridget O'Sullivan sent a feed into the middle of the penalty box. Luis ran onto the ball, touched it to the left of Corsaro and then fired a shot into the open net for her fifth goal of the season.

Southern New Hampshire doubled its advantage with just under three minutes remaining in the game. Luis pushed a pass from the top of the penalty box out to the top of the half circle, where Gabby Cappello launched a shot from into the upper left corner of the net for her second goal of the season.

Corsaro tallied six saves in the setback for the Dolphins. Paige Salmon turned away four Le Moyne shots, including three in the second half, to register her third straight shutout. Southern New Hampshire posted a 15-8 advantage in shots, while Le Moyne had a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.

Le Moyne (1-8, 0-6 NE-10), which has dropped four straight home games for the first time since the 2011 season, travels to Pace University on Tuesday to take on the Setters at 4:30 p.m.
