Ann Arbor, Mich. – Caris LeVert registered a game-high 22 points to lead the University of Michigan to a 74-52 victory over the Le Moyne College men's basketball team on Friday night in an exhibition contest at the Crisler Center. The matchup was the first between father and son head coaches, John Beilein of Michigan and
Patrick Beilein for the Dolphins.
Junior guard
Tyquan Rolon (Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham/Mohawk Valley C.C.) led three Dolphins in double figures with 18 points, all of which came in the second half. Senior guard
Qwadere Lovell (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Mount Vernon) recorded 12 points (9 in the second half), four rebounds and three assists. Sophomore guard
Tanner Hyland (South Portland, Maine/South Portland/Bridgton Academy) tallied eight of his 11 points in the second half.
LeVert tallied 13 of his game-high point total in the second half, while adding four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Duncan Robinson, who made his Michigan debut after transferring from Division-III Williams College last year, recorded 15 points off the bench, including 10 in the second half. Derrick Walton, Jr. was the third Wolverine in double-digits with 13 points, including nine after halftime.
After Michigan started the game's scoring, the Dolphins got baskets from Lovell and freshman forward
Brandon Fischer (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) to take a 4-2 lead with 16:24 remaining in the first half.
Following a Lovell free throw with 16:01 left to put the Dolphins up 5-4, the Wolverines scored 15 straight points over 9:08 to take control of the game. Robinson and LeVert each had five points in the span, while Kameron Chatman capped the streak with a free throw.
After Fischer nailed a three-pointer to cap the scoreless drought, Michigan scored seven consecutive points for a 26-8 lead with 3:03 left. Walton, Jr. made two free throws, Spike Albrecht nailed a three-pointer and then Ricky Doyle converted a lay-up.
Le Moyne cut its deficit to 12 with back-to-back three-pointers by Hyland and junior forward

LeVert closed out the half's scoring with a lay-up as time expired to give Michigan a 28-14 lead at the intermission.
Rolon opened the scoring in the second half with a three-pointer, while LeVert and Walton, Jr. answered with a three-pointer and a lay-up to push the margin to 16 with 18:53 left.
Michigan's lead then bounced between 14 and 18 over the next four minutes before LeVert connected on a three-pointer in transition for a 21-point advantage with 14:30 left.
After the team's traded points over the next 2:43, the Dolphins registered a 12-4 run to trim their deficit to 13 with 6:03. Rolon started the streak with a lay-up, Hyland and Lovell followed with three-pointers, Hyland connected on a free throw and then Hyland buried another three-pointer to make the score 54-41.
Michigan steadily increased its lead to a game-high 25 points by scoring 20 of the next 28 points over 5:18. Walton, Jr. and Robinson each accounted for five of the 20 points, while D.J. Wilson and Moritz Wagner each had four points. Lovell had a pair of jumpers in the span for the Dolphins, while Rolon nailed his fourth three-pointer of the half.

Panagiotis Zaraidonis (Athens, Greece/1st High School of Ilioupolis) drilled a three-pointer from the right wing in the final second to deliver the final score.
Le Moyne opens its regular season on Saturday, November 14 against East Stroudsburg University at 5:00 p.m. at The College of Saint Rose.
