#7 MEN’S LACROSSE DEFEATS PREVIOUSLY UNBEATEN FRANKLIN PIERCE, 15-1

Syracuse, N.Y. – The seventh-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team got goals from 10 different players as the Dolphins handed Franklin Pierce University its first loss of the season, 15-1, on Tuesday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference play at Ted Grant Field.

The Dolphins exploded out of the gates with six goals over the first 4:44 of the contest. After the first shot of the game was saved, graduate student midfielder Matt Taylor (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) picked up the loose ball and fired a shot into the back of the net 53 seconds into the contest. Off the ensuing faceoff, sophomore defensive midfielder Ryan Desmond (Fairfield, Conn./Ludlowe) picked up the ball and raced up field to net his first goal of the season. Only 26 seconds later, senior attackman Chris Breiner (Troy, N.Y./Trinity-Pawling) registered his third goal of the season with 13:26 left in the quarter to force a Franklin Pierce timeout. After causing a turnover and picking up the ground ball, sophomore defensive midfielder Nick Kline (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) cleared the ball and netted his first goal of the campaign with 12:02 to play. Junior attackman Pat Nowak (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) gave the Dolphins a 5-0 lead at the 10:39 mark, while senior midfielder Joe Corapi (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) capped the streak 23 seconds later after taking a pass from sophomore midfielder Brian Rogers (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa).

Following over 12 minutes of scoreless action, Corapi put the Dolphins up by seven with an unassisted goal with 13:06 remaining in the second quarter. Rogers picked up his second assist of the game by feeding junior attackman Logan Thomas (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool/Onondaga C.C.) for his seventh goal of the season with 8:23 to go. Following a Franklin Pierce turnover, Kline registered his second goal of the game after taking a pass from sophomore attackman Alex O'Brien (Hanson, Mass./Boston College High) with 7:38 remaining. Corapi closed out the scoring in the half with an unassisted goal with 3:27 left after clearing the ball.

Breiner tallied his second goal of the game 1:47 into the third quarter after taking a pass from senior attackman Kevin Kelly (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge), who had retained possession for the Dolphins with a ground ball after an errant shot.

Franklin Pierce got into the scoring column with 6:18 left in the third as Casey Burnett tallied an unassisted goal.

Kelly pushed Le Moyne's lead back to 11 with 2:47 remaining in the quarter off a feed from Nowak.

O'Brien had a hand in all three goals of the fourth quarter. He scored an unassisted goal with 8:38 left, he found the back of the net off a pass from junior midfielder Andrew Jackson (Syracuse, N.Y./Henninger) with 2:48 remaining and then fed sophomore attackman Cade Kelleher (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic) for a goal in transition as time expired.

Senior goalkeeper Alex Krawec (Kirkville, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa/Onondaga C.C.) made three saves in 30 scoreless minutes between the pipes to earn the victory. In addition to his game-high three goals, Corapi won 9-of-12 faceoffs and recorded a game-best seven ground balls. Don Denman recorded 11 saves in the loss for the Ravens.

Le Moyne (4-1, 2-0 NE-10), which improved to 15-0 all-time against the Ravens, continues its three-game homestand on Saturday against Saint Michael's College at 11:00 a.m.
