Jessica Miller (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) registered a career-high 18 kills to lead the Le Moyne College volleyball team to a 3-2 victory over The College of Saint Rose on Tuesday night in Northeast-10 Conference action at Ted Grant Court.
With the victory, Le Moyne takes a 2-1 lead over the Golden Knights in the year-long "Upstate Challenge" between the two institutions.
Saint Rose used a 6-0 run midway through the first set to open the match with a 25-20 win. After the teams split the first 24 points of the second set, the Dolphins rattled off seven straight points en route to a 25-16 victory to even the match at one apiece. Le Moyne took a 2-1 lead in the match by using a 12-2 run to close out a 25-11 win in the third set. The Golden Knights stayed alive in the match by posting a 12-1 run and holding on for a 25-20 win in the fourth set. The Dolphins closed out their first win over the Golden Knights since 2012 with a 15-11 win in the fifth set, which included a 9-0 run after falling behind 4-2.
Miller led three Dolphins with double-digit kill totals with her 18, which is the most by a Dolphin this season. She hit at a .441 clip in the match and added three service aces and a pair of blocks. Junior outside hitter
Natalie Casson (Kingman, Ariz./Kingman) registered her team-best fifth double-double of the campaign with 11 kills and a season-high 16 digs. Freshman middle hitter
Anna Hafoka (Hurst, Texas/L.D. Bell) landed double-figure kills for the fourth time in five matches with 10, while adding five digs and two blocks. Sophomore setter
Kendall Corcoran (Fort Salonga, N.Y./Kings Park) posted her fourth double-double of the year with 42 assists and 13 digs, while tallying four kills, including the final one of the match. Freshman libero
Mikayla Porr (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) led the Dolphins defensively with 25 kills, the most by a Dolphin in a home match since current head coach

Andrea Buchanan (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) was the fourth Dolphin with twin-figure digs with 14.
Maryellen Devic led the Golden Knights in the loss with a double-double of 14 kills and 16 digs. Sam Kubik also posted a double-double with 22 assists and 13 digs, while Erica Ziskin just missed a double-double with 12 assists and nine digs. Samantha Atchinson led Saint Rose defensively with 21 digs, while Rachel Salasky tallied 10 digs and seven kills.
Le Moyne (9-3, 1-1 NE-10), which beat Saint Rose at home for the first time since the 2009 season, visits Roberts Wesleyan College on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
