New Haven, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University men's and women's swimming and diving teams each won nine events en route to defeating the Le Moyne College teams on Saturday afternoon at Hutchinson Natatorium. The Owls were 121-107 winners on the men's side and posted a 129-104 win on the women's side.
Sophomore
Kelsey Smith (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Valley) was Le Moyne's only dual winner on the afternoon. She registered her first victory of the day by touching the wall first in the 200-yard IM in 2:14.84. She captured the final individual event of the meet, the 200-yard breaststroke, with a time of 2:35.32.
Senior
Tara O'Donnell (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem) was victorious in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:12.70.

Julia Wilson (Amherst, N.Y./Sweet Home) won the 800-yard freestyle relay in 8:43.23.
On the men's side, freshman
Cory Knapp (Weedsport, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) and junior
Tim Buff (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) each won an individual event and teamed on a relay victory. Knapp registered the team's first win of the meet by topping the field in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.78 seconds. Two events later, Buff captured the 500-yard freestyle in 4:57.85.
Senior
Ben Verdi (Buffalo, N.Y./St. Joseph's) placed first in the final individual event, the 200-yard breaststroke, in 2:16.21.

Eric Burdge (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) and sophomore
Andy Raiola (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xavier) won the meet-ending 800-yard freestyle relay in 7:23.80.
The Dolphins close out the regular season on Saturday against SUNY Cortland at 1:00 p.m. Prior to the meet, the 13 members of the senior class (eight men, five women) will be honored by the Dolphin Athletic Association for their contributions to the program.
