MEN’S SOCCER PLAYS TO SCORELESS DRAW WITH AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL ON “SENIOR DAY”

Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw with American International College on Saturday afternoon in Northeas-10 Conference action at Ted Grant Field.

The first half featured two shots by each team, but none of the four attempts were on target.

The Yellow Jackets put two shots on target in the opening three minutes of the second half, but each was turned away by junior goalkeeper Ben Beaury (Cohoes, N.Y./LaSalle Institute). Following a Le Moyne shot that did not make its way to the goal, Beaury was forced to make another save at the 64:29 mark to keep the game scoreless.

Le Moyne finally put a shot on goal with 15:45 left in the second half, but it was saved by AIC goalkeeper Sebastian Tamayo, who also had to make another save 3:42 later.

After neither team got off a shot in the first overtime period, the Dolphins took two shots in the second overtime period, but the first was blasted over the crossbar and the second was blocked.

Beaury finished the contest with three saves to earn his 20th career shutout, which moves him into sole possession of third place on the program's career shutouts list. Tamayo tallied a pair of saves to record his second shutout of the season. Le Moyne registered a 9-7 edge in shots, while each team took three corner kicks.

Le Moyne (10-3-2, 7-3-1 NE-10), which has tied the Yellow Jackets in back-to-back seasons and is winless against AIC over the last five meetings, opens the final week of the regular season on Tuesday at Franklin Pierce University at 4:00 p.m. The Ravens (24 points, tied for second place) are two points ahead of the Dolphins (22 points, tied for fourth place) in the NE-10 standings with two games remaining for each team.
