WOMEN’S SOCCER REGISTERS 4-2 VICTORY OVER PACE

Syracuse, N.Y. – Four different Dolphins scored as the Le Moyne College women's soccer team registered a 4-2 victory over Pace University in Northeast-10 Conference action on Tuesday afternoon at Ted Grant Field.

The Dolphins opened the scoring midway through the 12th minute of play. After having her initial breakaway shot saved by goalkeeper Aisha Chauhan, junior midfielder Stephanie Liberati (Liverpool, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) knocked the rebound into the right side of the net from eight yards out for her third goal of the season.

Only 1:52 later, the Dolphins doubled the lead. After collecting a clearing attempt by a Pace defender, senior midfielder Rachel Terry (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) moved to her right and sent an eight-yard shot into the right side of the goal for her team-best ninth goal of the season. Terry ranks second in the Northeast-10 in both goals and total points (19). On Le Moyne's career charts, Terry moved into a tie for seventh place in both goals (27) and total points (61), while both totals are the fourth-most during Le Moyne's tenure in the Northeast-10 (1996-present).

Pace trimmed its deficit in half at the 19:40 mark. Following a cross from the left side of the field, Alyssa Zeoli headed the ball from the top right corner of the goal box towards the left post. Bailey McCollum ran onto the ball and knocked it into the back of the net for her first goal of the season.

Le Moyne extended its lead back to two with less than five minutes left in the opening half. After having a pair of shots saved over the previous three minutes, junior midfielder/forward Kirsten Colegrove (Athens, Pa./Athens) netted her second goal of the campaign. Freshman midfielder Claire Stackel (Watertown, N.Y./Copenhagen) sent a pass from the left side of the field to Colegrove, who collected the feed on the right half of the penalty box and fired a shot into the left side of the net from 12 yards out.

The Dolphins pushed their lead to 4-1 just over three minutes into the second half. Off a corner kick from the right side, Colegrove served the ball into the goal box. Sophomore midfielder Kelsi Fredericks (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia/SUNY Oswego) ran onto the ball near the far left post and headed it into the back of the net for her second tally of the year. The assist marked the sixth of the season for Colegrove, which is tied for the most in the conference.

Pace finished off the game's scoring in the 75th minute. After carrying the ball to the endline on the right side of the field, Alicia Buchanan crossed the ball in front of the net, where Tabatha Gonzalez was able to knock it in at the left post for her first goal of the year.

The Setters put a pair of shots on target over the final 15 minutes, but could not get any closer.

Sophomore goalkeeper Anastasija Cumika (Riga, Latvia/Riga Kengarags/West Florida) registered two saves in each half en route to registering her fifth win of the season between the pipes. Chauhan turned away four saves over 71:36 in the loss for the Setters. Le Moyne recorded a 15-12 advantage in shots, including 10-5 in the first half, while Pace took four of the game's six corner kicks.

Le Moyne (5-4-1, 3-3-1 NE-10), which moves into a four-way tie for fourth place in the conference standings with 10 points halfway through its conference schedule, returns to action on Saturday at Adelphi University at 3:00 p.m.
