MEN’S BASKETBALL CRUISES TO 89-56 WIN OVER FELICIAN TO CLOSE OUT 2016

Syracuse, N.Y. – Junior guard Tyree Chambers (Bayreuth, Germany/Graf-Münster Gymnasium/Providence) scored a career-high 18 points to lead the Le Moyne College men's basketball team to an 89-56 victory over Felician University on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at Ted Grant Court.

The margin of victory was Le Moyne's largest since a 107-37 victory over Green Mountain on December 30, 2005 and was the largest against a Division II opponent since a 103-64 victory over Binghamton University during the 1997-98 season. The 89 points are the most in a regulation game since a 97-81 win at then-C.W. Post (now LIU Post) on December 19, 2011. The 5-0 mark by the Dolphins in December is the program's first undefeated month since going 7-0 in February 2009.

Chambers led five Dolphins in double figures with his career-best 18 points, 10 of which he scored in the second half, while he also posted career-highs of seven rebounds and five assists. Junior forward Daniel Kaigler (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden/Gannon) posted his third straight double-digit scoring output with 15 points, while tying Chambers for game-high honors with seven rebounds. Junior forward Isaiah Eisendorf (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook/Gannon) registered 14 points, while junior guard Russell Sangster (Rockville, Md./Bullis School) tallied 11 points and senior forward Stan Buczek (Port Jervis, Md./Burke Catholic) recorded 10 points.

Kennedy Chukwuocha led the Golden Falcons in the loss with 11 points and seven rebounds. Bryant Webb also tallied 11 points, while adding five rebounds.

After Gjaimeir Stanford made two three-pointers over the opening 2:08 to give Felician a 6-2 lead, the Dolphins rattled off an 18-5 run to take control of the game. Eisendorf started the run with a three-pointer, sophomore guard C.J. Asuncion-Byrd (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich/St. Thomas More/Gannon) and junior guard Anthony Richards (New Castle, Pa./New Castle/West Virginia Wesleyan) knocked down three-pointers, Sangster scored four points and Chambers capped the streak with a three-pointer.

Webb registered a three-point play with 12:19 remaining to get the Golden Falcons within 20-14, but the Dolphins held Felician scoreless over the next 7:54 as Le Moyne ran off 22 consecutive points to blow the game open. Kaigler and Buczek each scored six points in the run, while Richards, Chambers and Eisendorf each had three points.

Felician tallied six of the next eight points to get within 24 for the final time. Webb scored the first four points for the Golden Falcons before William Phelps made a pair of free throws.

Le Moyne closed out the half with nine of the last 11 points to take a 31-point lead in halftime. Kaigler made a pair of shots around five points by Sangster in the span.

Following a pair of jumpers in the paint by Felician around a Sangster lay-up to start the second half, the Dolphins tallied 18 of the next 25 points to take their largest lead of the game, 73-33, with 9:40 remaining. Eisendorf started the streak with a pair of three-pointers and then four different Dolphins accounted for the other 12 points with the run capped by a fast-break lay-up by Chambers.

The teams alternated points the remainder of the game with Le Moyne's lead bouncing between 32 and 37 points.

Le Moyne (9-3), which finished non-conference play with a 5-1 mark, returns to Northeast-10 Conference play on Wednesday against Stonehill College at 3:00 p.m.
