SECOND-RANKED MEN'S LACROSSE PULLS AWAY IN SECOND HALF FOR 14-5 WIN AT SAINT MICHAEL’S

Colchester, Vt. – Senior attackman Logan Thomas (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool/Onondaga C.C.) scored a career-high five goals to lead the second-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team to a 14-5 win over Saint Michael's College on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Duffy Field.

Senior midfielder Nick Kline (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) opened the game's scoring with his 10th goal of the year with 10:42 remaining in the opening quarter after taking a pass from junior midfielder Alex O'Brien (Hanson, Mass./Boston College High).

The Purple Knights got on the scoreboard with just one second left in the quarter as Mark Yetter finished off a pass from Tim Connor. Charlie Murphy gave Saint Michael's the lead 5:12 into the second quarter with his third goal of the year.

Thomas countered with three consecutive goals, including the first two over a span of 12 seconds. He tied the score with 6:12 left in the half after collecting a pass from Kline. Off the ensuing faceoff, he registered an unassisted goal to give the Dolphins the lead again, this time for good. Just under five minutes later, Thomas doubled the team's lead after receiving a feed from junior attackman Cade Kelleher (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic).

Le Moyne took control of the game with five of the six goals in the third quarter. The Dolphins scored twice in the opening 4:02 of the quarter to double their lead. Junior midfielder Brian Rogers (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) put the team up 5-2 with 11:49 left and the O'Brien finished off a feed from Kelleher with 10:58 to go.

The Purple Knights trimmed their deficit back to three with 9:15 remaining on Taylor Wallace's third goal of the season.

Rogers answered back 43 seconds later with 8:32 remaining to start a 4-0 run. He then fed senior attackman Pat Nowak (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) in an extra-man situation for his eighth goal of the year with 1:50 left. Just 57 seconds later, Rogers tallied his 26th goal of the campaign. Thomas capped the 4-0 run with 11:24 remaining in the fourth quarter off a feed from senior attackman Andrew Jackson (Syracuse, N.Y./Henninger).

After Yetter finished off pass from Brian Loughlin with 8:25 to go with his 22nd goal of the year, the Dolphins recorded another 4-0 run. Senior midfielder Mike Fiorini (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) ignited the streak with his 10th goal of the season with 7:44 to play. Thomas followed with his 28th goal of the campaign after receiving a pass from graduate student midfielder Matt Taylor (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius/Cornell) with 4:24 left. Just over one minute later, freshman attackman Ryan Cosgrove (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) recorded his third goal of the year after taking a feed from sophomore attackman Greg White (Buffalo, N.Y./Nichols School). White then completed Le Moyne's scoring with 2:36 left off a pass from sophomore midfielder Bailey Wilkinson (Black River, N.Y./Carthage).

Murphy delivered the game's final score with his fourth goal of the year with 1:14 to play.

Redshirt senior goalkeeper Alex Krawec (Kirkville, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa/Onondaga C.C.) registered 14 saves, his fifth double-digit save performance of the year, to register his 29th career victory, which ties him with Tom Kimble '03 for the fourth-most in the program's history. TJ Bicknell also tallied 14 saves in the contest for the Purple Knights.
 
Le Moyne (13-0, 9-0 NE-10), which clinched a home game in the Northeast-10 Conference Championships, closes out its home schedule on Saturday against fourth-ranked Adelphi University at 12:30 p.m. Prior to the opening faceoff, the nine members of the senior class will be honored by the Dolphin Athletic Association for their contributions to the program.
