North Andover, Mass. – Victoria Carter had two assists to lead Merrimack College to a 4-2 win over the Le Moyne College women's soccer team on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Martone-Mejail Field.
The Warriors got on the scoreboard first just over nine and one-half minutes into the game. Sarah Boucher slid a pass to the top of the penalty box to Carter, who then flicked a pass to her left to Mia Reed in the left corner of the penalty box. Reed then ripped a shot under the crossbar for her first goal of the season.
Merrimack doubled its lead in the 29th minute. Following a throw-in from the left sideline, Amber Gustafson tallied her first goal of the year into the far right side of the goal from outside the top left corner of the penalty box. Carter and Tori Daigle were credited with assists on the goal.
Le Moyne broke through to cut its deficit in half in the 32nd minute. After collecting a pass from junior back
Grace Powers (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill), senior forward
Rachel Terry (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) found the back of the net for the fifth time this season. With the goal, the 23rd of her career, Terry moved into a three-way tie for ninth place on the program's all-time goals scored chart and moved into a tie for 11th place on the all-time points list with 53.
After getting fouled in the penalty box, Gigi Guenther extended Merrimack's lead back to two at the 57:35 mark by converting a penalty kick into the right side of the goal.
Junior midfielder
Brielle Filtch (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus/Mansfield) trimmed Le Moyne's deficit back to one with 2:33 left in the game, but Bianca Giacalone registered her second goal of the season just 19 seconds later off a pass from Rachel Healy to finish off the game's scoring.

Molly Meehan turned away 11 shots, including six after halftime, to earn the victory between the pipes for the Warriors.
