Worcester, Mass. - Kallie Villemaire scored twice in the final 11:21 of the game to lead Assumption College to a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over the Le Moyne College women's soccer team in Northeast-10 Conference action on Wednesday afternoon at the Multi-Sport Stadium.
Following three shots by each team over the opening 15 minutes of the game, including one shot each by Assumption's Alexis Stowell that hit the crossbar, was saved and hit the goal post, the Dolphins tallied the game's first goal. After bringing the ball down the right side, sophomore midfielder
Jada Sargeant (Camillus, N.Y./Marcellus/Buffalo State) crossed the ball in front of the net. Sophomore midfielder
Claire Stackel (Watertown, N.Y./Copenhagen) settled the ball and fired a shot into the right side of the net at the 15:25 mark for her team-best fifth goal of the season.
The Greyhounds tallied seven shots over the final 29 minutes of the half, including two on goal, but were unable to even the score prior to halftime.
After six shots over the opening 30 minutes of the second half, including three that needed to be saved, Assumption tied the score in the 79th minute. Brooke Shatney sent a through ball into space to Villemaire, who controlled the pass and slipped a shot into the back of the net at the 78:39 mark for her 14th tally of the campaign.
Just under three and one-half minutes later, the Greyhounds netted the game-winning goal. From the wing, Stowell crossed the ball into the box, where Villemaire one-touched the ball out of the air at the 82:07 mark for her 15th goal of the year, which is tied for the second-most in the country.
The Dolphins were unable to get off a shot over the final seven minutes to potentially tie the game.

Anastasija Cumika (Riga, Latvia/Riga Kengarags/West Florida) registered seven saves, including four in the second half, in the setback for the Dolphins. Katie Hammer recorded three saves in her first career start for the Greyhounds to earn the win. Assumption posted a 20-12 advantage in shots, including 10-6 in each half, while each team had five corner kicks.
Le Moyne (4-8, 3-6 NE10) returns home to host Merrimack College on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
