Syracuse, N.Y. – Senior
Kelsey Smith (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Valley) won three events to lead the Le Moyne College women's swimming and diving team in a tri-meet with Assumption College and Merrimack College on Saturday afternoon at the Rev. Vincent B. Ryan, S.J. Pool. The Dolphins registered a 147-132 victory over Merrimack, while falling to Assumption, 177-100. Assumption tallied a 198-60 win over Merrimack.
Smith registered her first victory of the afternoon by edging Assumption's Abbey Holmes in the 100-yard breaststroke by just 0.03 seconds with a time of 1:08.68. She then topped the field in the 100-yard freestyle by 0.56 seconds with a time of 55.07 seconds. Smith completed her day by registering a time of 2:15.19 to win the 200-yard IM by over 10 seconds.
Junior
Kylee Wilson (Conesus, N.Y./Livonia) swept the two diving events. She won the first one-meter diving event with 144.00 points. She followed with 168.15 points to capture the second one-meter diving event.
Freshman
Haley Synan (Belchertown, Mass./Belchertown) posted a first-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly by touching the wall in 2:14.17.
The Dolphins are back in the pool, along with the men's team, on Saturday against Bentley University at 1:00 p.m.
