Waltham, Mass. – Alec Foster knocked in a rebound 1:42 into the second half to lead Bentley University to a 2-1 victory over the Le Moyne College men's soccer team in the Northeast-10 Conference finale for both teams on Friday afternoon.
The Dolphins closed out the regular season with losses in their final two games to finish with an 11-4-2 overall record and a mark of 7-4-2 in NE10 action. The Dolphins will be the fifth seed in next week's NE10 Championships and will take on fourth-seeded Southern New Hampshire University on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. With the victory, the Falcons clinch the eighth seed with a 5-6-2 NE10 record and will visit top-seeded Adelphi University on Tuesday.
The Falcons opened the game's scoring just under 10 minutes into the contest on their fifth shot of the contest. After Adam Watkins had a shot clang off the goal post, Julian Stewart knocked the rebound into the back of the net at the 9:59 mark for his fifth goal of the season.

Marek Weber (Fulda, Germany/Sportgymnasium Jena/Goethe-University Frankfurt) headed the ball from the left post into the top right corner at the 14:35 mark for his NE10-best 18th goal of the season. The 18 goals are tied for the second-most by a Dolphin in a season in the program's history, while his 38 points are the sixth-most.
Of the nine shots the teams combined for over the final 30 minutes of the half, only one was put on target and it was saved by Bentley goalkeeper David Price.
The Falcons scored the game-winning goal only 1:42 into the second half. After Eric Spangler rattled a shot off the goal post, Foster was in position to slot a shot into the bottom right corner of the goal for his first tally of the campaign.
The Dolphins got off nine shots the remainder of the contest, including five on goal, but could not tie the score before the final whistle.
Senior goalkeeper
Ben Beaury (Cohoes, N.Y./LaSalle Institute) registered five saves in his final career regular season contest. Price tallied eight saves, including six in the second half, to earn the victory between the pipes. Le Moyne recorded an 18-15 advantage in shots, including 10-5 in the second half, while posting a 7-4 edge in corner kicks.
