New London, N.H. – Three Dolphins tied for seventh place to lead the Le Moyne College men's golf team to a second-place finish at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship on Monday and Tuesday at the par-70, 6704-yard Lake Sunapee Country Club.
Bentley University edged the Dolphins by one stroke for the team championship with a two-day score of 592. The Falcons, who also won the NE10 Championship at Lake Sunapee in 2014, posted a 289 on Monday to take a three-shot lead for first place. The Falcons held on to their lead down the stretch on Tuesday and finished the round with a 303. The Dolphins registered a 593 over the two days to post their fourth straight top-two finish at the conference championship. The Dolphins finished second behind the Falcons at Lake Sunapee in 2014, tied Southern New Hampshire for first, but lost in a playoff, in 2015 and won the program's second NE10 title last year. The Dolphins recorded a 299 in the first round to land in fifth place, 10 shots back of the Falcons. Le Moyne tallied a 294, the best score in the second round, to jump over three teams in the standings. Paradis registered rounds of 73 and 70, while Hunt tallied scores of 71 and 72. Paradis is the fourth straight individual champion to come from the host institution (SNHU's Jake Nutter in 2014, Le Moyne's
John Clare in 2015 and Saint Rose's Corey Purcell in 2016).
