Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's golf team will open its season on Saturday with the first two rounds of the Alex Lagowitz Memorial hosted by Colgate University at the par-72, 7125-yard Seven Oaks Golf Club.

The Dolphins are participating in the event for the third straight year and are opening their season there for the second time. The Dolphins and host Raiders will be joined by 11 other teams. Also participating are Binghamton, Bucknell, Canisius, Cornell, Holy Cross, Niagara, Penn, Saint Bonaventure, Saint Joe's, Seton Hall and Villanova. The field of 84 competitors will play 36 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday.

Le Moyne returns nine of 11 players from last year's squad, while adding a pair of freshmen. The lineup for the Dolphins will feature five of the nine returners, while another returner and a freshman will play as individuals. Fourth year Owen Corby (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) is in the top spot followed by third year Mac Quinn (Glenwood, N.Y./Canisius HS), second year Jacob Olearczyk (Barneveld, N.Y./Holland Patent) and third years Tyler Stark (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) and George Green (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton). Third year Jacob Moody (Oakland, Maine/Messalonskee) and first year Kai Chiarenza (Rexford, N.Y./Shenendehowa) are playing as individuals.

Corby had the best scoring average last year among the returners, posting a 75.0 over 25 rounds at 10 events. He placed in the top 10 at a pair of events, including a tie for ninth at the NEC Championship, and had four rounds at par or better, including a 67 at the Carpetbagger Classic on March 22.

Quinn turned in a 78.1 scoring average over 12 rounds at six events. Olearczyk played in 22 rounds over 10 events as a first year and registered a 75.7 scoring average, while finishing in the top 10 once. Stark tallied a 76.6 average over nine rounds at five events, while posting a pair of rounds at par or better. Green finished the campaign with a 76.2 average over 19 rounds at eight events and had one top-10 placement. Moody completed his second year as a Dolphin with a 75.2 average over 25 rounds at 11 events, while recording three rounds at par or better, including a 67 at The Autumn Invitational on September 27.
