MEN’S GOLF PLACES 10TH AT RYAN T. LEE MEMORIAL COLLEGIATE

Seekonk, Mass. – Third year Jacob Moody (Oakland, Mass./Messalonskee) tied for 25th place to lead the Le Moyne College men's golf team to a 10th-place finish at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate hosted by Brown University on Saturday and Sunday at the par-71, 6801-yard Ledgemont Country Club.

Bryant University rallied on Sunday to win the team competition with a two-under par total of 850 following rounds of even-par 284, 286 and four-under 280. FDU finished in second place at one-under 851 after scores of even-par 284, 287 and four-under 280. LIU, which led the field after the first day, placed third at even-par 852 off rounds of four-under 280, 285 and 287. The Dolphins finished the three rounds with a total of 877 after rounds of 294, 292 and a season-best 291. Sacred Heart's Ronan Mooney earned medalist honors with an 11-under par 202 following scores of eight-under 63, one-under 70 and two-under 69.

Moody finished in a six-way tie for 25th in the field of 90 competitors with a 218 (the second-best 54-hole score of his career), which included six birdies and 38 pars. He opened with a three-under par 68, the second-best round of his career, which featured six birdies and 10 pars. In the afternoon, he tallied a 76, which included 13 pars. He closed out the event with a 74, featuring 15 pars.

Third year Mac Quinn (Glenwood, N.Y./Canisius HS) landed in a six-way tie for 31st place with a 219, featuring 10 birdies and 28 pars. He had a 77 in the opening round, which included three birdies and six pars. He then carded a 73, featuring four birdies and eight pars. He registered a career-best 69 on Sunday, which included three birdies and 14 pars.

Fourth year Owen Corby (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) finished in a three-way tied for 37th at 220, which included seven birdies and 33 pars. On Saturday morning, he had one birdie and 13 pars en route to a 74. He turned in a 73 in the second round, which featured four birdies and eight pars. He posted another 73 on Sunday, which included two birdies and 12 pars.

Third year George Green (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) registered a career best-tying 222, which featured an eagle, five birdies and 34 pars, to land in a four-way tie for 48th place. He opened with a 77, including two birdies and 10 pars. He tallied the second-best round of his career in the second round with a 70, which featured an eagle, a birdie and 14 pars. On Sunday, he recorded a 75, which included two birdies and 10 pars.

First year Kai Chiarenza (Rexford, N.Y./Shenendehowa) finished in a four-way tie for 61st with a 227, which included an eagle, 12 birdies and 20 pars. He opened with five birdies and seven pars on his way to a 75. He recorded a 77 in the afternoon, featuring an eagle, three birdies and five pars. He capped the weekend with a 75, which included four birdies and eight pars.

The Dolphins return to action next Sunday for the first day of the CNY Challenge Cup against Binghamton University and Colgate University at Bellevue Country Club in Syracuse. The second round on Monday will take place at En-Joie Golf Course in Endicott.
