Syracuse, N.Y. – Junior guard
Anthony Richards (New Castle, Pa./New Castle/West Virginia Wesleyan) scored 14 points in the second half to lead the 24th-ranked Le Moyne College men's basketball team to a 61-47 victory over the University of New Haven in the quarterfinals of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships on Sunday afternoon at Ted Grant Court.
With the win, Le Moyne (22-5) advances to the Northeast-10 Conference semifinals, which the Dolphins will host on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. against Saint Anselm College. After misfiring on a pair of three-pointers in the first half, Richards went 4-for-5 from long range in the second half, while adding two free throws, to accumulate his team-best 14 points. He also pulled down five rebounds. Classmate

Michael Bourke made a jumper 44 seconds into the second half to give New Haven the lead, but it only last 20 seconds as Richards hit his first three-pointer of the half to ignite a 20-4 run. Richards drained two more three-pointers after senior forward
Stan Buczek (Port Jervis, N.Y./Burke Catholic) and Asuncion-Byrd made lay-ups. Following a lay-up by Danny Upchurch, junior forward
Daniel Kaigler (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden/Gannon) made three free throws around a lay-up by Sangster. Richards then capped the run with two free throws with 8:59 to play.
