SECOND-RANKED MEN’S LACROSSE CRUISES TO 12-2 WIN OVER SAINT MICHAEL’S

Syracuse, N.Y. – Junior attackman Justin Kesselring (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) and freshman attackman Matthew Hutchings (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) each had five points in the first half to lead the second-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team to a 12-2 victory over Saint Michael's College in Northeast-10 Conference action on Friday afternoon at Ted Grant Field.

Hutchings started the game's scoring just 32 seconds into the contest with a drive down the right alley. Kesselring picked up his first point of the afternoon two and one-half minutes later by finding freshman attackman Riley Larson (Fairfield, Conn./Ludlowe) for his 10th goal of the year. Kesselring then fed senior midfielder Brian Rogers (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) at the 7:05 mark of the first quarter for his 14th goal of the season.

Kesselring picked up his third straight assist at the 13:11 mark of the second quarter by flipping a pass to senior attackman Cade Kelleher (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic). Junior midfielder Tom Koster (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) put the Dolphins up 5-0 with 10:26 left in the half after collecting a pass from Hutchings. Kesselring followed with his team-best 27th goal of the season at the 6:03 mark off another pass from Hutchings. After Hutchings picked up his seventh goal of the season just over four minutes later, Hutchings recorded his fourth straight point by finding the back of the net off a pass from Kesselring with 1:15 left in the half for an 8-0 lead.

Off a save by junior goalkeeper Jack Sweeney (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Onondaga C.C.), senior defenseman Dylan Borkowski (Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury) cleared the ball and fed Larson at the 11:03 mark of the third quarter for his 11th tally of the season, while Borkowski earned his second career assist.

The Purple Knights got on the scoreboard with 4:12 left in the third quarter as Brian Loughlin scored from the right edge of the crease off a pass from Anthony Sullivan.

Kesselring pushed Le Moyne's lead back to nine (10-1) an even two minutes into the fourth quarter.

Ralph Gillone III tallied his eighth goal of the year with 6:29 left in the game off a feed from Aidan Maron.

Just 41 seconds later, sophomore attackman Ryan Cosgrove (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) tallied his sixth goal of the season. Freshman attackman Matt Malone (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford) completed the game's scoring with his third goal of the year with 26 seconds remaining.
