SECOND-RANKED MEN’S LACROSSE REGISTERS 15-4 WIN AT EIGHTH-RANKED PACE

Pleasantville, N.Y. – Five Dolphins each scored two goals as the second-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team registered a 15-4 victory over eighth-ranked Pace University on Wednesday afternoon at Pace Stadium.

The Dolphins jumped out to a 3-0 lead over the first 11 and one-half minutes of the game. Junior midfielder Tom Koster (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse/Onondaga C.C.) started the scoring at the 10:02 mark with his sixth goal of the year. Sophomore midfielder Dan Entenmann (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) doubled the lead with 8:23 left in the quarter with his seventh goal of the season. Just under five minutes later, junior attackman Justin Kesselring (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) found the back of the net for the 23rd time this year.

Liam Brennan got the Setters on the scoreboard with 50 seconds left in the quarter.

After causing a turnover by Brennan with seven seconds left, sophomore defender Zac Prattson (Tolland, Conn./Springfield Cathedral (Mass.)) collected a pass and rifled a shot from 50 yards out into the left side of the net for his first career goal with two seconds to go.

Le Moyne extended its lead to 9-1 with the first five goals of the second quarter. Senior midfielder Brian Rogers (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) ignited the run 73 seconds into the period after taking a pass from freshman midfielder Jake Stowell (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia). Following an unnecessary penalty on the Setters, senior midfielder Alex O'Brien (Hanson, Mass./Boston College High) netted his second extra-man goal of the year (sixth goal overall) with 12:06 left in the half off a feed from sophomore attackman Jack Vajda (Clinton, N.J./Rutgers Prep). Just 41 seconds later, freshman attackman Riley Larson (Fairfield, Conn./Ludlowe) tallied his seventh goal of the campaign after collecting a pass from Entenmann. Larson finished off another pass from Entenmann with 6:37 left in the quarter. Rogers capped the streak at the 3:07 mark with an unassisted tally.

Michael Pappalardo recorded his fifth goal of the year with 2:11 left to get the Setters within 9-2 at halftime.

The Dolphins pushed their lead to double-digits with the only three goals of the third quarter. Sophomore midfielder Josh Slowinski (Williamsville, N.Y./Clarence) got the Dolphins into double figures at the 10:36 mark with his eighth goal of the campaign. Entenmann picked up his goal of the year with 5:35 to go. Kesselring gave the Dolphins a 12-2 advantage with 57 seconds left in the quarter with his team-best 24th goal of the season.

Ryan O'Hagan got the Setters back within single digits 13 seconds into the fourth quarter after taking a pass from Daniel Keenan.

The Dolphins answered with a pair of goals separated by 8:17. Koster tallied his second goal of the day at the 11:27 mark and then junior midfielder Bailey Wilkinson (Black River, N.Y./Carthage) found the back of the net for the fourth time with 3:10 to play.

Junior attackman Greg White (Buffalo, N.Y./Nichols School) completed the game's scoring with 46 seconds with a man-down goal off a pass in transition from sophomore midfielder Daniel Lynch (Billerica, N.Y./Billerica).

Junior goalkeeper Jack Sweeney (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Onondaga C.C.), the reigning Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week, registered 10 saves (against three goals) over 56:50 between the pipes to earn his ninth win of the season. Robert Beshlian totaled seven saves (against 12 goals) over 45 minutes in the loss.
