Syracuse, N.Y. – Le Moyne College sophomore pitcher/shortstop Josiah Gray (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) has been named a National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Honorable Mention All-America selection as a relief pitcher, as announced recently.
 
Gray, who was named to the NCBWA East Region First Team earlier this month, earns his first career All-America honor. He is the first Dolphin to earn All-America honors since 2008, when Eric Beaulac '09 was named to the ABCA Second Team and Chris Edmondson '10 was tabbed to the ABCA Third Team. Gray, who was named to the Northeast-10 Conference All-Conference First Team earlier in the month, registered 10 saves, a 1-0 record, a 0.63 earned run average and 22 strikeouts over 14 and one-third innings over 13 appearances out of the bullpen. He allowed just one run over his 13 appearances and tossed 10 scoreless innings over nine appearances after allowing the run. Additionally, he yielded just seven hits and two walks among the 53 batters he faced. He led the Northeast-10 Conference in saves and had the best earned run average among relief pitchers, while he ranked third in the league in strikeouts per nine innings (13.81). Gray ranks second in the East Region and 16th nationally with his 10 saves. He recorded multiple strikeouts in six of his 13 appearances.
 
At the plate, he led the team with three triples and ranked second on the team in runs batted in (27), stolen bases (10) and doubles (8), while scoring 20 runs, the sixth-most on the team. The three triples are the seventh-most in the conference.
 
The Dolphins finished the season with a 28-16 record, including a 15-7 mark in conference action and 12-6 in the Southwest Division.
