25TH-RANKED MEN’S SOCCER TIES 15TH-RANKED SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE, 2-2

Manchester, N.H. – Senior goalkeeper Ben Beaury (Cohoes, N.Y./LaSalle Institute) registered a career-high 12 saves to lead the 25th-ranked Le Moyne College men's soccer team to a 2-2 double-overtime tie at 15th-ranked Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Larkin Field.

The Dolphins, who snapped a six-game losing streak to the Penmen in Manchester since a 2-2 tie on October 14, 2006, jumped out to a 2-0 lead over the opening 5:27 of the contest. First-year graduate student forward Marek Weber (Fulda, Germany/Sportgymnasium Jena/Goethe-University Frankfurt) started the scoring just 96 seconds into the game by netting his seventh goal of the season after going in one-on-one with the goalkeeper and slipping a shot into the left side of the goal.

Following a throw-in into the box, the Penmen attempted to clear the ball, but second-year graduate student midfielder Tom McConway (Hertfordshire, England/Chesham FC/Nottingham Trent University) sent a low volley into the right corner of the net at the 5:27 mark for his second goal in 24 games as a Dolphin.

Beaury turned away three shots over the remaining 39:04 of the half as the Dolphins took the 2-0 lead into halftime.

The Penmen kept up the offensive intensity in the second half and recorded four shots in the opening 10:23 of the stanza, two of which Beaury had to save.

After Beaury was whistled for a foul in the penalty box and Southern New Hampshire was awarded a penalty kick, Louka Masset converted the attempt at the 55:42 mark for his third goal of the campaign.

Following three more Beaury saves, the Penmen evened the score off a free kick following a Le Moyne yellow card. Romain Daniellou sent the ball into the box, where Masset was able to head the ball into the right side of the net with 19:58 to play in regulation.

The Penmen registered an 8-3 advantage in shots over the final 17:01 of regulation, but Beaury was able to turn away all three shots put on net by the Penmen, while the Dolphins failed to put a shot on target in the span.

The first overtime session saw just one shot and it was saved by Beaury, while the only shot of the second overtime period was wide of the net.

Beaury, whose previous best save total was eight against Adelphi on September 19, 2015, recorded eight of his 12 saves in the second half as he earned his fourth career save between the pipes. The 12 saves are tied for the second-most by a Dolphin over the last 15 seasons and are the most since Steve White '09 made 12 against Dominican on October 9, 2007. Daniel Milton made one save (just 2:54 into the game) to earn his first career tie. The Penmen finished the game with a 24-10 advantage in shots, including 20-4 after halftime, while each team recorded four corner kicks.

Le Moyne (3-1-1, 0-1-1 NE10), which is winless through two conference games for the first time since 2012, travels to Springfield, Massachusetts on Wednesday to take on American International College at 7:00 p.m.
