MEN’S SOCCER PLAYS TO SCORELESS DRAW AT SAINT ANSELM

Manchester, N.H. – The Le Moyne College men's soccer team played to a scoreless draw with winless Saint Anselm College on Saturday in Northeast-10 Conference action at Melucci Field.

In the first half, the Dolphins registered an 8-3 advantage in shots, including 2-1 in shots on goal.

The Dolphins had an even larger advantage in shots in the second half at 12-4, but all six of their attempts on goal were turned away by Saint Anselm goalkeeper Jacob Rostkowski.

The first overtime period saw the Dolphins take six of the seven shots, including a 2-1 edge in shots on goal.

Le Moyne took the only five shots of the second overtime period, but was unable to find the back of the net on the two shots on goal.

Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Josh Mahr (Fayetteville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) registered saves on each of the four saves he faced to record his fourth shutout of the season. Rostkowski finished the contest with 12 saves. Le Moyne's final shot count was 31, compared to eight for the Hawks, while the Dolphins took 11 of the game's 13 corner kicks.

Le Moyne (9-2-1, 6-2-1 NE10), which lost out on its chance to control its own destiny to win the NE10 regular season title, returns home to face Southern Connecticut State University on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.
