North Andover, Mass. – Tori Daigle recorded two goals and one assist to lead Merrimack College to a 7-0 win over the Le Moyne College women's soccer team in Northeast-10 Conference action at Martone-Mejail Field on Saturday afternoon.
After each team put three shots on goal over the opening 30 minutes, the Warriors struck for the only goal they would need. Katelyn Richardson tallied her second goal of the season at the 33:39 mark to give Merrimack a 1-0 lead.
Following two shots on goal over the first eight minutes of the second half, the Warriors scored their first of six goals in the stanza. Daigle collected the ball and fired a shot into the lower left corner of the net at the 53:06 mark for her fourth goal of the season.
Just 85 seconds later, Daigle fed Izzy McDonnell at the top of the penalty box, where she sent a shot into the lower left corner for her team-best sixth goal of the year.
After a short punt hit a Le Moyne defender, Daigle tracked down the loose ball just outside the top right of the penalty box. She then slid a shot inside the near right post of the empty net at the 56:24 mark for her fifth tally of the campaign.
The Warriors took a 5-0 lead at the 60:46 mark as Erin Tyldesley netted her fourth goal of the year from the top of the penalty box after a Le Moyne field player and the goalkeeper collided outside of the penalty box.
Tyldesley found the back of the net again at the 73:23 mark by sending a shot into the upper left corner from the top right side of the penalty box.
Merrimack completed the game's scoring in the 75th minute. Off a pass up the middle of the field, Taylor Robertson went in one-on-one with the goalkeeper and sent a shot from 17 yards out into the middle of the net at the 74:54 mark for her sixth goal of the season.
