Springfield, Mass. – Jennifer Hackett scored a goal and dished out an assist to lead American International College to a 2-0 win over the Le Moyne College women's soccer team in Northeast-10 Conference action at Abdow Field on Tuesday evening.
Following two shots by each team over the opening 20 minutes of the game, the Yellow Jackets scored the only goal they would need. Off a pass from Jacinda McCartney from the left side of the penalty box, Hackett scored into the lower right corner of the net from 12 yards out for her second goal of the season with 23:51 gone in the game.
After five shots, including a pair on goal, following a 34-minute lightning delay in the 30th minute, American International tacked on an insurance goal. Hackett sent a backwards pass in the middle of the field to Anniina Sankoh, who tallied her third goal of the season at the 39:04 mark on a blast from 25 yards out.
The Dolphins put one shot on goal in the second half, but could not find the back of the net.

Anastasija Cumika (Riga, Latvia/Riga Kengarags/West Florida) recorded six saves in the loss the between the pipes. Mikayla Demanche stopped the only shot she faced to earn the shutout victory. American International registered a 17-6 advantage in shots, including 11-2 in the first half, while taking four of the game's seven corner kicks.
Le Moyne (3-7, 1-6 NE10), which has dropped five straight road games, returns home to host Saint Anselm College on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
