SAINT ANSELM REGISTERS 3-0 VICTORY OVER WOMEN’S SOCCER

Syracuse, N.Y. – Liz Shaievitz scored just 66 seconds into the game to lead Saint Anselm College to a 3-0 victory over the Le Moyne College women's soccer team in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday at Ted Grant Field.

The Hawks scored the only goal they would need just over one minute into the game. After stealing a pass 35 yards out, Shaievite moved up field before launching a shot from 30 yards that snuck underneath the crossbar in the middle of the goal for her first goal of the season.

Following two shots on goal by Saint Anselm and one by Le Moyne, the Hawks doubled their lead in the 27th minute. Off a pass by Erin Paquette from midfield, Corey Murray collected the ball and fired a shot from just outside the top of the penalty box and under the crossbar at the 26:50 mark for her third tally of the year.

After the Dolphins had a shot saved at one end of the field in the 56th minute, the Hawks took a 3-0 lead at the 56:24 mark as a Saint Anselm pass from the left end line was redirected into the right side of the goal by a Le Moyne defender.

The Dolphins put two shots on goal in the final four minutes, but could not cut into their deficit.

Senior goalkeeper Anastasija Cumika (Riga, Latvia/Riga Kengarags/West Florida) tallied a pair of saves in the loss. Payton Wildrick earned the win in between the pipes after making two saves over 82:29. Le Moyne posted a 6-5 edge in shots, while taking five of the game's six corner kicks.

Le Moyne (3-8, 1-7 NE10) is back at home on Wednesday against Assumption College at 3:30 p.m.
