WOMEN’S SOCCER FALLS AT BENTLEY, 3-1

Waltham, Mass. – Sammy Millmann scored the go-ahead goal midway through the first half as Bentley University registered a 3-1 win over the Le Moyne College women's soccer team in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday at the Bentley Soccer Field.

After their first three shots were off their target, the Falcons took their first lead in the 19th minute. With the ball loose, Lauren Bean got to the ball first and fired a shot from eight yards out into the top of the net at the 18:32 mark for her first goal of the season.

On just their second shot of the game, the Dolphins scored in the 28th minute to tie the score. Off a run from midfield to the edge of the penalty box, sophomore forward Elizabeth Maguire (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) sent a low shot inside the far post at the 27:28 mark for her fourth tally of the campaign.

Just over three and one-half minutes later, Bentley regained the lead. From the left corner of the box, Millmann tallied her first goal of the season from 20 yards out.

The Falcons put three more shots on goal in the first half, but each was saved.

After having three shots saved in the first 23 minutes of the second half, the Falcons tacked on an insurance goal in the 70th minute as Emma Guccione scored her fourth goal of the season from 10 yards out.

Senior goalkeeper Anastasija Cumika (Riga, Latvia/Riga Kengarags/West Florida) finished the contest with seven saves. Kat Hassapis tallied a pair of saves in the first half to earn the win. Bentley registered a 21-4 advantage in shots, including 9-1 in the second half, while taking all six of the game's corner kicks.
