TOP-RANKED MEN’S LACROSSE TOPS AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL, 16-3, TO CLINCH BYE IN FIRST ROUND OF NE10 CHAMPIONSHIPS

Springfield, Mass. – Five Dolphins each scored two goals as the top-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team recorded a 16-3 win over American International College on Tuesday night in Northeast-10 Conference action at Abdow Field.

The Dolphins scored the only six goals of the first quarter. Senior attacker Greg White (Buffalo, N.Y./Nichols School) started the scoring at the 12:34 mark with his 15th goal of the season after taking a pass from freshman attacker Devin Andrews (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy/Stony Brook). Freshman midfielder Kaiden Tubbert (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn/Bridgton Academy) doubled the lead with 9:48 left off a feed from White. Sophomore midfielder Matt Hutchings (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) scored in an extra-man situation with 7:10 remaining after collecting a feed from senior attackman Justin Kesselring (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport). Just 72 seconds later, Kesselring netted his 32nd goal of the campaign. Sophomore midfielder Hans Zimmer (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) extended the lead to five with 5:01 to go in the quarter off a pass from White, who completed the quarter's scoring 50 seconds later after receiving a feed from Andrews.

Sophomore midfielder Ross Filtch (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus/Siena) scored the first goal of the second quarter to give the Dolphins a 7-0 lead with 12:13 remaining.

Quinn Caesar got the Yellow Jackets on the scoreboard with 11:44 left with his 15th goal of the year.

Sophomore attackman Mike Sudora (Monroe, Conn./St. Joseph), who made his collegiate debut, scored his first goal with 10:04 remaining after taking a pass from freshman Justin Kopansky (Endwell, N.Y./Maine-Endwell/Salisbury School). Just under four minutes later, freshman Ryan McNeill (North Granby, Conn./Wilbraham & Monson (Mass.)) netted his first goal off a feed from junior Ryan Cosgrove (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili). Sudora completed the half's scoring with 2:25 to go.

The Dolphins scored a pair of goals in the third quarter to take a 12-0 lead. Freshman attackman Ben McCreary (Cicero, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) recorded his fifth goal of the season just 23 seconds into the quarter. Junior midfielder Daniel Lynch (Billerica, Mass./Billerica) tallied his second goal of the campaign at the 6:26 mark off a feed from freshman attackman Evan Kelly (Honeoye Falls, N.Y./Aquinas Institute).

Le Moyne extended its lead to 14-1 with the first two goals of the fourth quarter. Cosgrove scored his first goal of the season with 13:40 to play and followed with his second with 11:23 left.

Will Lewis snapped Le Moyne's run with his first goal of the year with 5:51 left after taking a pass in an extra-man situation from Rawill Herrera.

McCreary pushed the margin back to 13 goals with 4:32 remaining off a feed from McNeill.

Jack Shaughnessy tallied an extra-man goal with 45 seconds left off a feed from Jack McIntyre to complete AIC's scoring.

McNeill closed out the game's scoring by slipping a shot into the back of the net at the final buzzer.

Redshirt junior goalkeeper Jack Sweeney (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Onondaga C.C.) earned his ninth win of the season after playing the first 9:59 between the pipes. Jacob Ortiz tallied 16 saves in the loss for the Yellow Jackets.

Le Moyne (13-0, 9-0 NE10), which clinched a top-two seed in the NE10 Championships and a bye in the first round, concludes its road schedule on Saturday at Saint Michael's College at 11:00 a.m.
