Tim Leavell (Marion, Ind./Marion/State Fair C.C.) scored a career-high 30 points as the Le Moyne College men's basketball scored the most points in the program's history in a 123-70 win over Chestnut Hill College on Sunday afternoon at The College of Saint Rose's Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. The win marked the first in the head coaching career of
Nate Champion '14.
The 123 points eclipse the previous record of 122 set against St. Lawrence University during the 1956-57 season. The game marked the 45th time in the program's 1,807 games that the Dolphins have scored at least 100 points and their first time doing so in regulation since December 29, 2005, a 107-37 win over Green Mountain.
The Dolphins, who placed six players in double figures, also set a new program record by burying 21 three-pointers, including 12 in the second half. The previous record of 18 was set against Mercyhurst on January 25, 1991 and equaled against Bridgeport on February 3, 1995. The team's 42 made field goals are the most since making 43 in the aforementioned win over Green Mountain, while the team's 26 assists are the most since recording 33 in the same game.
Leavell registered 17 of his career high-tying 30 points in the second half, while finishing the game by going 11-of-15 shooting overall and 7-of-10 shooting from three-point range and grabbing a career-high eight rebounds. Senior guard
Ryan Roland (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Mercyhurst) recorded a career-best 26 points, including 18 in the first half, after going 9-of-14 from the field and 6-of-11 from three-point range. BB Chuks-Mady (Hamilton, Ontario/GTA Prep) each recorded 12 points, while Hernandez grabbed six rebounds and Chuks-Mady pulled down a career-best eight rebounds to go along with his career-high point total. Redshirt senior guard

Scottie Spann Jr led the Griffins in the setback with 17 points off the bench, including 15 in the first half.
After Chestnut Hill scored five straight points for a 5-2 lead, the Dolphins scored seven consecutive points to take the lead, which they would not relinquish. Hernandez started the spurt with a lay-up, Garner drained a three-pointer for the lead and then graduate student forward
Lonnie Rivera (Spring Valley, N.Y./Don Bosco Prep (N.J.)/American/Wagner) knocked down a jumper.
Julius Phillips got the Griffins within 14-11 with 13:35 left, but the Dolphins rattled off 13 of the next 15 points for a 27-13 advantage. Leavell bookended the run with three-pointers, while Roland had five points and Hernandez scored in the paint.
The Griffins scored six straight points, but the Dolphins answered with a 14-2 run for their first 20-point lead of the game with 6:35 left in the half. Roland had a pair of three-pointers in the stretch, while Leavell had four.
Chestnut Hill got within 15 on a pair of occasions, while the Dolphins pushed their lead to 21 at one point before the Griffins got within 17 at halftime, 56-39.
Le Moyne scored the first 22 points of the second half over the opening 6:06. Garner had six points in the streak, Roland had five, Hernandez and senior forward
Tom Brown (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) had four each and Leavell drained a three-pointer.
Chestnut Hill used a 6-2 spurt to get within 35, but the Dolphins answered with five three-pointers around three free throws by the Griffins to take a 95-48 lead with 10:19 to play. Leavell hit two three-pointers then Roland, Jennings and senior guard
Wyatt Self (Davidson, N.C./Pine Lake Prep/Elev8 Sports Institute/Campbell) followed with trifectas.
Chuks-Mady scored Le Moyne's next six points to get the Dolphins into triple digits and give the team its first 50-plus point lead at 101-50 with 7:56 to go.
The Griffins got within 47 on a pair of occasions over the next 3:42, during which Leavell hit the program record-breaking three-pointer, but the Dolphins scored 10 of the next 12 points over the next 2:12 to take their largest lead of the game at 55 points, 118-63, with 2:02 remaining. Leavell and Jennings each scored three points in the span, while Chuks-Mady and Self each made two free throws.
Self hit the game's final three-pointer with 55.1 seconds left and Jennings finished off the game's scoring with a lay-up for the record-breaking points.
Le Moyne (1-1) opens its home schedule on Friday at 7:00 p.m. against 11th-ranked Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
