Amherst, N.Y. – Allison Post recorded a double-double to lead Daemen College to a 3-1 win over the Le Moyne College volleyball team in non-conference action on Wednesday night at Lumsden Gymnasium.
The Dolphins opened the match with a 25-20 win in the first set. The Wildcats answered back with a 25-19 victory in the second set. Daemen took a 2-1 lead in the match with a 25-23 win in the third set. The Wildcats closed out the match with a 25-19 victory in the fourth set.
Sophomore middle blocker
Lexi Petraitis (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) led the Dolphins offensively in the match with 11 kills on a .476 hitting percentage to go along with a solo block. Freshman outside hitter
Madeleine Kennedy (Chelsea, Mich./Chelsea) also tallied 11 kills and a solo block. Senior middle blocker
Jacquelyne Ghindia (Mission Viejo, Calif./Santa Margarita) registered 10 kills and four digs. Junior setter
Emily Yancone (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) directed the offense with 32 assists, while adding eight digs and five kills. Senior libero
Claire Hiwiller (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Sweet Home) led the defense with 21 digs, while sophomore defensive specialist
Emily Mosack (Webster, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) posted 16 digs.
Post registered a match-high 17 kills and 16 digs. Courtney Bernard hit .467 en route to 16 kills, while adding three digs. Hannah McKee facilitated the offense with 48 assists to go with nine digs. Georgia Wicker led four Wildcats with twin figure digs with 17. Ali Greenwood tallied 16 digs and Lexi Prokopius recorded 12 to go along with four kills.
Le Moyne (13-12, 6-6 NE10) closes out the regular season on Saturday against The College of Saint Rose at 4:00 p.m. Prior to the match, the senior class of Ghindia, Hiwiller and middle blocker
Anna Hafoka (Hurst, Texas/L.D. Bell) will be honored by the Dolphin Athletic Association for the contributions to the program.
