SEVENTH-RANKED MEN’S LACROSSE RECORDS 12-5 WIN OVER 17TH-RANKED ASSUMPTION

Worcester, Mass. – Five Dolphins recorded multi-goal performances to lead the seventh-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team to a 12-5 win over 17th-ranked Assumption College on Wednesday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at the Multi-Sport Stadium.

The Dolphins got on the scoreboard first just 1:25 into the game as freshman midfielder Colin Sypek (Lake Worth, Fla./American Heritage School (Delray Beach)) finished off a pass from senior midfielder Dan Entenmann (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn). With the assist, Entenmann became the 30th player in the program's history to record 100 career points.

Following eight and one-half minutes of scoreless play, Brett Jennings evened the score at one apiece with 5:06 left in the opening quarter.

Le Moyne answered with four goals in 98 seconds. Junior attackman Riley Larson (Fairfield, Conn./Ludlowe) started the jaunt at the 4:21 mark off a pass from freshman attackman Kevin Sheehan (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee). Just 51 seconds later, Larson fed junior attackman Matt Hutchings (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) for his 18th goal of the season. Following a failed clear by the Greyhounds, Entenmann netted his seventh goal of the year with 2:53 remaining. Off the ensuing faceoff, senior midfielder Josh Slowinski (Williamsville, N.Y./Clarence) scooped up the ball and raced up field before flipping a pass to Hutchings for his second goal of the streak, which forced an Assumption timeout with 2:43 left in the period.

Jennings completed the scoring in the opening quarter with 1:38 left to get the Greyhounds within 5-2.

The teams alternated goals in the second quarter. After the Dolphins started the quarter with the ball in a man-down situation, Larson pushed Le Moyne's lead back to four at the 14:13 mark after collecting a pass from senior midfielder Ryan Cosgrove (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili).

Travis Reid, who entered the game averaging 4.57 goals per game, answered for Assumption with his only goal of the game with 12:45 left after taking a feed from Dan Farrell.

Sypek netted his seventh goal of the season just 38 seconds later off a pass from Slowinski.

Trevor Wilcox got the Greyhounds within 7-4 off a feed from Farrell with 6:18 until halftime.

Slowinski scored the only goal of the third quarter just 64 seconds into the period off a pass from Entenmann, who moved into a tie for 11th place on the program's assists chart with the 59th of his career.

Le Moyne scored the first four goals of the fourth quarter to take its largest lead of the game. Slowinski started the run 43 seconds into the quarter with his 11th tally of the year after taking a feed from Larson. Entenmann got the Dolphins into double digits with his eighth goal of the year with 11:26 left off a pass from Cosgrove. Entenmann scored again just 12 seconds later after collecting the faceoff. Sophomore attackman Devin Andrews (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy/Stony Brook) completed Le Moyne's scoring in the game with his fifth goal of the year with 1:37 left.

Anthony D'Angelo delivered the game's final score with 39 seconds later off a pass from Farrell.

Junior goalkeeper Riley Smith (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker/Onondaga C.C.) registered 10 saves, including seven in the second half, to earn his seventh win of the year. Colby Hamwey turned away 16 shots, including eight in the second quarter, in the loss for the Greyhounds.

Le Moyne (7-2, 4-1 NE10), which improved to 22-0 all-time against the Greyhounds, returns home to host 20th-ranked Saint Anselm College on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
