ANDREWS AND LARSON PROPEL SEVENTH-RANKED MEN’S LACROSSE TO 15-5 WIN OVER 20TH-RANKED SAINT ANSELM

Syracuse, N.Y. – Attackmen Riley Larson (Fairfield, Conn./Ludlowe) and Devin Andrews (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy/Stony Brook) combined for 13 points to lead the seventh-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team to a 15-5 win over 20th-ranked Saint Anselm College on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Ted Grant Field.

The Dolphins opened the game with the first five goals. Senior midfielder Josh Slowinski (Williamsville, N.Y./Clarence) netted the first goal just 1:01 into the contest off a pass from Larson. Andrews made it 2-0 with 9:08 left off a pass from senior midfielder Dan Entenmann (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn). Just 16 seconds later, Larson finished off a feed from junior midfielder Ross Filtch (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus/Siena), who followed with an extra-man goal with 7:57 remaining off a pass from Slowinski. Andrews completed the opening run just 18 seconds later with an unassisted marker.

Patrick Sweeney got the Hawks on the scoreboard with his 19th goal of the season with 6:54 to go in the quarter.

The Dolphins answered with the final two goals of the period. Andrews tallied his third goal of the quarter with 5:10 remaining off a pass from junior attackman Matt Hutchings (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus). Senior midfielder Ryan Cosgrove (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) recorded his 12th goal of the campaign with 1:41 left to complete the quarter's scoring.

The teams traded goals in the second quarter. Freshman attackman Kevin Sheehan (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) netted his 12th goal of the year with 7:03 left off a pass from freshman midfielder Colin Sypek (Lake Worth, Fla./American Heritage School (Delray Beach)). Sweeney answered with 4:40 remaining with his 20th tally of the year. Anthony Busconi got the Hawks within five with 3:13 left. Andrews completed the scoring in the quarter with five seconds left after collecting a pass from Entenmann.

The third quarter featured the teams alternating goals again. Xavier Quinn scored the first of the quarter's five goals just 1:15 into the stanza. Larson answered back 2:00 later off a pass from Hutchings. Ryan Richards got the Hawks within five for the final time with 3:10 remaining off a feed from Jack Wells.

Larson recorded the assist on the final two goals of the third. He fed Andrews with 2:37 remaining for his fifth goal of the day, while Entenmann finished off a feed from Larson with four seconds left.

Le Moyne scored all three of the fourth quarter goals. Larson tallied the first just 18 seconds into the period after receiving a pass from Hutchings. He netted his fourth goal of the day and 25th of the season with 6:38 remaining. Sypek finished off the game's scoring 48 seconds later after collecting a feed from Andrews.

Junior goalkeeper Riley Smith (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker/Onondaga C.C.) tallied 10 saves, including four in the first quarter, in the victory. Freshman faceoff specialist Sam Kury (Oakdale, Conn./Montville) went 19-of-23 at the faceoff "x" to control possession for the Dolphins. His 19 wins are the third-most by a Dolphin over the last 17 seasons and the most since 2014. Nick Richard turned away 18 shots, including eight in the second quarter, in the setback.

Le Moyne (8-2, 5-1 NE10) returns to action on Tuesday, hosting Franklin Pierce University at 4:00 p.m.
