Worcester, Mass. – Jordan White scored 23 points to lead Assumption College to a 95-61 victory over the Le Moyne College men's basketball team in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Laska Gymnasium.
Sophomore guard
Nino Hernandez (Gardner, Mass./The Winchendon School/Bryant) led the Dolphins in the loss with 18 points, including nine in each half, and six rebounds. Senior guard
Ryan Roland (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Mercyhurst) was the only other Dolphin in double figures with 12 points, 10 of which came in the second half, to go along with five rebounds and three steals. The team's .284 shooting percentage is its worst since a .250 mark (14-of-56) in a 46-40 win at Franklin Pierce on January 16, 2007, while the .167 mark from three-point range is the worst since a .105 mark (2-of-19) in a 62-55 loss at Southern Connecticut State in the NE10 Semifinals on March 5, 2014, current head coach Nate Champion's second-to-last game as a student-athlete.
White recorded 14 of his game-high point total in the first half, while grabbing eight rebounds. Malik Brown registered a double-double with 13 points (10 in the second half) and 11 rebounds. Matthew Kelly turned in 11 of his 17 points and five of his six assists in the second half, while Cal Connelly posted 10 of his 16 points after halftime.
Le Moyne (15-6, 11-2), which dropped to 6-23 all-time at Assumption, returns to NE10 Southwest Division action on Wednesday at The College of Saint Rose at 7:30 p.m.
