Mansfield, Mass. – Five Le Moyne College student-athletes have been named to Northeast-10 Conference Academic All-Conference teams for their respective sports, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
Tom Brown (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) of the men's basketball team,
Liz Millea (Cooperstown, N.Y./Cooperstown) of the women's basketball team,
Michael Dierolf (Pennsburg, Pa./Quakertown) and
Jacob Stewart (Keene, N.H./Keene) of the men's swimming and diving team and
Haley Synan (Belchertown, Mass./Belchertown) of the women's swimming and diving team were honored for their accomplishments in the classroom and in competition.
Tom Brown, Sr.
Men's Basketball
Brown, a senior forward, earns his second consecutive Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic Team honors. An Information Systems and Marketing major with a 3.834 grade point average, Brown averaged career-highs of 13.3 points, 9.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game in leading the Dolphins to 19 victories, the most in the NE10 in the regular season. A College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America® Third Team selection, his 9.9 rebounds per game ranked 19th in Division II. He was one of just two players in the NE10 and one of just seven players in the 37-team East Region to average at least 10 points and 9.5 rebounds. An NE10 All-Conference Second Team selection this year and honorable mention as a junior, Brown led the Dolphins in rebounds and was second on the team in scoring, assists, steals, assist-to-turnover ratio and minutes. Brown scored in double digits in 20 of 27 games, including a career-high 29 against Saint Anselm on January 25. He grabbed double-figure rebounds in 14 games, including a career-high 15 against Franklin Pierce and Adelphi. He posted 11 double-doubles, tied for the ninth-most in the East Region.

Women's Basketball
Millea, a redshirt junior guard, earns her first Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic Team honors. A Management and Leadership major with a 3.546 grade point average, Millea registered career-best averages of 13.9 points, 2.1 assists and 1.0 steals as a starter in 27 of 28 games played. She ranked fourth in the conference in three-pointers (67), sixth in three-point percentage (.383), tied for ninth in field goals made (149), 11th in total points (390) and 13th in points per game. Her 67 three-pointers are tied for the fourth-most in a season in the program's history. Millea scored in twin figures in 22 of 28 games, including each of the last eight games. She registered a career-best 24 points in a 77-38 win over the University of New Haven on February 8. In a 69-55 win over Bentley University on January 28 and in the aforementioned victory over New Haven, she tied classmate
McKayla Roberts and Jennifer Dennett '96 for the program-record for three-pointers in a game with seven. In conference action, she averaged 14.2 points, 2.2 assists and 1.2 steals. Her 51 three-pointers in league play trailed only Roberts, while her .405 percentage ranked sixth.
Michael Dierolf, Sr.
Men's Swimming
Dierolf, a senior, earns his first Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic Team honors. An Information Systems and Finance major with a 3.61 grade point average, he earned 26 individual points and placed in the top-four in four events at the NE10 Championships. He earned a silver medal, the team's best performance at the championship, in the 200-yard breaststroke with a career-best time of 2:05.05, becoming just the second Dolphin in the program's history to ever go under 2:07. He finished fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 57.63 seconds, the second-fastest time in the program's history. He also placed 11th in the 200-yard IM in 1:59.77. He teamed on the bronze medal-winning 400-yard medley relay squad, which finished in 3:26.05 and swam the second leg for the fourth-place 200-yard medley relay. During the dual-meet season, he registered 12 first-place performances.

Men's Diving
Stewart, a sophomore, also earns his first Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic Team honors. An Environmental Science Systems major with a 3.653 grade point average, he placed in the top-eight in both diving events at the NE10 Championships. He finished eighth in the one-meter diving event with a career-best 268.95 points. He recorded a seventh-place finish in the three-meter diving event with a career-best 304.65 points, becoming just the fifth Dolphin to eclipse 300 points. In dual meets, he had a pair of first-place finishes and four second-place finishes.
Haley Synan, Jr.
Women's Swimming
Synan, a junior, receives her first Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic Team recognition. An Environmental Science Systems major with a 3.593 grade point average, she earned a team-best 43 individual points and placed in the top-seven in all seven events entered at the NE10 Championships. She closed out her performance at the championship by claiming the bronze medal in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:07.45. She finished fourth in the 400-yard IM in 4:36.68 to collect 15 points. She placed seventh in the 1000-yard freestyle in 10:44.49 in her first event of the weekend. She teamed on a fifth place, two sixth place and a seventh place relay. She was victorious in 22 individual events during dual meets, including five meets where she claimed all three events she entered.
To be eligible for selection to the academic all-conference teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference teams are chosen by a vote of a committee of athletic administrators and Faculty Athletic Representatives (FAR).
