Mansfield, Mass. – Five members of the Le Moyne College men's swimming and diving team have received Northeast-10 Conference weekly honors, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
Freshmen
Belal Hamad (Syracuse, N.Y./PSAL at Fowler) was named the NE10 Men's Swimmer of the Week and Rookie of the Week. He won two individual events and teamed on a relay victory in Le Moyne's 157-67 win over Pace on Saturday. He won the 200-yard freestyle by over 10.5 seconds with a time of 1:47.24. He later claimed the 100-yard freestyle by over two seconds with a time of 48.69 seconds. He anchored the first-place 200-yard freestyle relay team, which won in 1:31.72.
Freshman
Justin Byrne (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) was recognized as the NE10 Men's Diver of the Week. He was victorious in both one-meter diving events in the win over Pace on Saturday. He scored 166.75 points to win the first event and tallied 242.55 points to win the second event.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team was named the NE10 Men's Relay Team of the Week. The quartet of Hamad, redshirt freshmen
Logan Bronecki (Hemlock, N.Y./Livonia) and
Logan Petralia (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) and senior
Alex Turczyn (Burnt Hills, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) won the 200-yard freestyle relay on Saturday by over six seconds with a time of 1:31.72.
The Dolphins are back in the pool on Saturday at Hartwick College at 1:00 p.m.
