WOMEN'S SOCCER LOSE ON THE ROAD TO BENTLEY

Waltham, M.A. - The Le Moyne College women's soccer team fell 3-0 on the road to Bentley University in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup Saturday afternoon.

Goalkeeper Allison Moreau (Sauquoit, N.Y./Sauquoit Valley) made seven first half saves to keep the game scoreless going into halftime, but the Falcons broke the tie in the first minute of the second half off a quick counter attack. Emily McGrath sent a cross from the left wing to the middle of the Le Moyne penalty area where Dana Goulet took a one-time shot with her right foot that got past the diving Moreau and into the bottom right side of the net to give Bentley a 1-0 lead.

In the 49th minute senior forward Lexi Aquilino (Depew, N.Y./Maryvale) dribbled into the right side of the Bentley defensive third before dropping off a pass to Rachel Wengender (Webster, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) sprinting forward from her left back position. Wengender's first touch was a shot, from about 25 yards out, to the near post that was caught by Bentley goalkeeper Kat Hassapis.

The Falcons doubled their lead in the 60th minute with a goal from Brooke Jones. Goulet made a move past her defender in the left side of the Le Moyne penalty area and from six yards out hit a shot on the ground that was saved by Moreau. The ball rolled right back to Goulet, who sent a pass on the ground across the goal that was deflected by the left hand of Moreau. The ball rolled to the middle of the 18-yard box where Jones ran onto the ball and from eight yards out hit a shot back across the face of the goal and inside the left post to give Bentley a 2-0 lead.

Sydney O' Connor scored on a breakaway in the 81st minute to make it 3-0 Bentley.

In the 83rd minute Danielle Casey (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) played a pass to Madga Aspholm (Östersund, Sweden/Jämtlands Gymnasium Wargentin) who turned towards goal and from about 35 yards out ripped a shot with her right boot that was saved by Hassapis.

The Le Moyne College women's soccer team will travel to Dobbs Ferry, New York to take on Mercy College on Tuesday, October 26 at 3:00 p.m. EST.
