Hooksett, N.H. - The Le Moyne College women's soccer team fell to #7 Southern New Hampshire University by a score of 3-0 at Penmen Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Le Moyne goalkeeper Allison Moreau (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) made 11 of her 14 saves in the first half, and the Dolphins defense held strong for the first 45 minutes, as the score was tied 0-0 heading into the half time break.
The Penmen broke the tie in the 50th minute when Alyssa Anderson scored her fifth goal of the season on an assist from Ai Inoue.
Southern New Hampshire doubled their lead two minutes later. This time it was Anderson who got the assist on a goal from Kiri Chiba.
Le Moyne forwards Amya Naja (Gansevoort, N.Y./South Glens Falls) and Hannah Brown Trice (Seneca Falls, N.Y./Mynderse Academy) both got off shot between the 65th and 75th minute, but the Dolphins were unable to get on the board.
The Penmen got their third goal in the 77th minute when Allison Beaumont scored off a Cara Easter assist.
Magda Aspholm (Östersund, Sweden/Jämtlands Gymnasium Wargentin) and
Brooke Wilson (Rochester, N.Y./Hilton) both put shots on target within the last 10 minutes of the contest, but neither could find the back of the net and the Dolphins suffered a 3-0 loss on the road.
The Le Moyne College women's soccer team will travel to Amherst, N.Y. to take on Daemen College on Wednesday, October 13 at 1:00 p.m. EST.
