BASKETBALL DOUBLE HEADER SET TO TAKE PLACE ON TED GRANT COURT SATURDAY AFTERNOON

Syracuse, N.Y. - Both Le Moyne College basketball programs will be in action at home against Northeast-10 Conference opponent Stonehill College on Saturday, January 7. The two women's programs will play first with tip-off scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EST and the men's teams will go on afterwards, with tip-off scheduled for 3:00 p.m. EST. 

The Le Moyne College women's basketball team will enter Saturday's contest with a 6-2 record overall, including a 4-1 record against conference competition. The Stonehill Skyhawks will travel to Syracuse with a 3-4 overall record, including a 2-3 NE10 resume. Stonehill's last five games have been either cancelled or postponed. The last time they played a game was December 15 at Franklin Pierce, which resulted in a 70-59 Skyhawks win. Senior guards Emily Bramanti and Isabella Santaro, along with junior guard Mia Kelly led the Skyhawks in scoring during their win over the Ravens with 16, 15, and 15 points, respectively. On the year Bramanti is averaging a team-high 19.3 points to go along with 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. 

The Dolphins are coming off an impressive 55-41 victory over Pace on Wednesday. Le Moyne's stifling defense and a Lytoya Baker (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) double-double lifted them over the now 11-2 Setters. 

Baker provided 13 points and 11 rebounds against Pace after tallying 19 points and six rebounds during Le Moyne's previous victory at American International College on January 1. On the year the junior guard is averaging 10 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.9 steals per game. 

Senior forward Emma Brinker (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) is leading the Dolphins in both scoring and rebounding, with averages of 18 points and 11.1 rebounds per contest.

The last time these two programs battled on January 11, 2020, the Skyhawks came away with a 61-55 win on their home floor. When the two sides met during the 2018-19 campaign in Syracuse, the Dolphins earned an 18-point victory.


The Le Moyne College men's basketball team (6-5, 2-2 NE10) has not played a game since their 95-89 overtime victory at Florida Southern on December 18. Their last three games have been either cancelled or postponed. The Dolphins last played a conference game on December 4, when they came away with a 56-55 win at Southern Connecticut State. The visiting Skyhawks (7-4, 3-2 NE10) are operating on a similar timeline. Stonehill last competed on December 20, when they suffered an 82-60 setback at home against Assumption. Both their December 30 matchup at Daemen, and their January 5 conference contest against Southern New Hampshire were postponed. The Skyhawks last victory came on December 5, when they bested Saint Anselm 71-70. Senior guard Isaiah Burnett led them in scoring during the conference victory with 22 points on 8-16 from the field and 6-11 from behind the three-point line. On the year Burnett is averaging 13.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.3 steals per game. Senior forward Andrew Sims leads the Skyhawks in scoring with 13.8 points per game to go along with 6.9 rebounds. 

During the three games he has played this season, sophomore forward Luke Sutherland (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee/Siena/Bryant) is averaging 19.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks. Sutherland poured in 27 points during 29 minutes played on 12-17 shooting from the field, including 2-3 from behind the arc and pulled down six rebounds during the team's win at Florida Southern.

Redshirt-freshman guard Christian Davis (Denver, Colo. Mullen/New Hampton School) is shooting 37% from behind the three-point line on a team-high 75 attempts so far this season while averaging 14.7 points and 6.8 rebounds. Davis has recorded two double-doubles on the year and is shooting 92% from the free-throw line.

6'1" redshirt-freshman guard Kevin Constant (Lawrence, Mass./Central Catholic/Tilton School) is averaging 13.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.9 steals per game on 59% shooting from the field and 4-6 from beyond the arc. Constant stuffed the stat sheet at Florida Southern, finishing the overtime win with 22 points on 6-10 shooting from the field and 9-12 from the foul line, along with four assists, three rebounds, three blocks, and three steals. 

The last time these two programs met on January 11, 2020, the Skyhawks earned a 80-69 victory at home. In their meeting the previous season in Syracuse, Le Moyne came away with a 66-60 win.
