Colchester, Vt. – The Le Moyne College men's and women's swimming and diving teams each had three double winners en route to a sweep of Saint Michael's College on Saturday afternoon at the Ross Sports Center. The men were 151-88 winners, while the women recorded a 141.5-85.5 victory.

"Hats off to Coach Hall and the St. Michael's squad," said head coach Adam Zaczkowski '04. "They came out with high energy and emotion during the first few events. Coach Hall does a great job preparing her swimmers and today was proof.

"I'm so proud of the men and women of Le Moyne," added Zaczkowski. "They weathered a tough St. Mike's squad on our first overnight trip of the season. We stood tall and won many close races. Our senior leaders stepped up and helped guide the rest of our team. Hannah Kellogg and Joe Malone really got things started for us with convincing swims in the mile (1650 freestyle). After that we just kept rolling. We separated ourselves once we got into the diving and 200s of stroke. We showed our depth and grit."

Additional quotes from head coach Adam Zaczkowski '04:
"I was really impressed by Sam Crimmins and Alex Welliver in the mile. They both swam the event for the first time and got us needed points."

"Also excited to see our other freshmen men really kicking it into high gear. Keegan Stafford was excellent in the 200 Freestyle. Xavier Silaka was good in the IM and Nate Kwait has turned a corner and is getting more confident by the week. Sophomore Dom Fratto in the backstroke is also coming along well."

"On the women's side, Ella Kaback was faster today than at the close of last season in the 200 breaststroke. Grace Thomas was back to being Grace in the 200 backstroke."

"Next week we have Bentley and that's a true test of where we are. It's also our first home meet of the season, where we get to sleep in our own beds and stay on campus for the meet."
