MEN PLACE SECOND AND WOMEN PLACE THIRD AT HAMILTON CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL

Clinton, N.Y. – Redshirt sophomore Matt Bartolotta (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) placed first to lead the Le Moyne College men's cross country team to a second-place finish at the Hamilton College Invitational on Saturday morning. Senior Maggie Casey (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon) finished eighth to guide the women's team to a third-place finish.
 
Hamilton won the men's eight-kilometer race with 20 points, following in second place was Le Moyne with 67 points and in third place was Clarkson with 73 points. In fourth place was SUNY Poly with 96 points, fifth place was Ithaca with 133 points, Onondaga CC placed sixth with 172 points and Fulton-Montgomery CC placed seventh with 207 points.
 
Bartolotta finished first overall with a time of 26:20.7 to win by nine seconds. Redshirt sophomore Nick Berg (Minoa, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) placed ninth with a time of 27:16.6. Sophomore Jeremy Plumley (Camden, N.Y./Camden) placed 19th with a time of 28:18.5 in his season debut, closely followed by sophomore Jack Gibson (Ilion, N.Y./Central Valley Academy), who finished 21st with a time of 28:25.8. Sophomore Evan Breitbeck (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) finished 32nd with a time of 29:29.3, directly followed by senior Max Serling (Rochester, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon), who finished with a time of 29:34.1.
 
For the women, Hamilton also took the win for the five-kilometer course with 15 points. Ithaca placed second with 58 points and Le Moyne placed third with 61 points. Clarkson placed fourth with 138 points, Hartwick placed fifth with 144 points, Cazenovia placed sixth with 156 points and SUNY-Poly placed seventh with 176 points.
 
Casey led the team finishing in eighth with a time of 20:10.6. Following directly behind her was sophomore Anita Jepchirchir (Eldoret, Kenya) placing ninth with a time of 20:12.7. Sophomore Sophia Bisognano (Albany, N.Y./Colonie) finished 12th with a time of 20:24.9 and freshman Emma Gepfert (Albany, N.Y./Colonie) placed 13th with a time of 20:30.1. Sophomore Hilda Kiprono (Eldoret, Kenya/Kapsabet Girls High School) placed 23rd with a time of 21:12.8.
 
The Dolphins will be traveling back to Clinton for the Hamilton Tune-Up on Saturday, October 22nd with a start time of 11:00 AM.
